I'm addicted to this show, as well. It was only after the UD review of Season 1, that I really got into this show. I had only seen one episode (the one after the Super Bowl), and then the review on UD of Season 1 tempted me to pick it up. I fell in love! I'm there for Season 2.

I saw the episodes on Code Black the other day. I really enjoyed them both, but I thought that the should've ended the 2 episode when Meredith, Christina and Izzy step into the shower at the end. It didn't seem realistic that after all that happened during that day that she'd go home and look like she just stepped out of a catalogue. And then she's still concerned with McDreamy. Can they give it up, I hate Meredith and Derek together, I don't care anymore. Realism aside though, I largely enjoyed the episodes. Can't wait for the Ultimate Disney review of the Season 2 set.

I really, really, really, really hated this show......and then I watched it.
I disliked it because there were just SOOOOOOO many Doctor/Hospital shows at the time, and this show seemed uncreative and unoriginal.
It's actually really good, like James said, The Code Black episodes ('The end of the world' and 'As we know it') have screened in Australia over the past two Mondays, and they were the first episodes I ever saw, as I had to tape them for my sister.
So I can't wait for Season Two to be released and to buy Season One, it turned out to be an amazing show. I can't wait for UD's review and to see all the Episodes before 'Code Black'.

The only hospital shows I watch are:

Scrubs

Green Wing (BBC) - this is a British show that is closer to Scrubs than it is to Grey's Anatomy... It is hilarious, but unfortunately, I don't have cable any more. Think The Office plus Scrubs plus Black Books (it has the same girl,) plus a few other things...

Alright, guys. Luke was kind enough to allow me to review the second season box of Grey's Anatomy, and I just got the DVD in the mail this afternoon. I'm going to be working on the review this weekend and will try to get it done as quickly as possible for those of you who are wondering about the contents, but there are a few things I can confirm right off the bat from looking at it. So, here are the answers to the questions I had before recieving the set; I'm hoping they will tide you over until I can finish the review.

1) There are FOUR extended episodes on here. I've heard the number three and the number four, so let me just confirm, it's four (I'm going off the booklet here since I haven't gotten to them in the reviewing yet.) They are:

Episode #9 Thanks For the Memories
Episode #16 It's the End of the World (the first half of Code Black, that aired after the Super Bowl)
Episode #19 What Have I Done to Deserve This?
Episode #27 Losing My Relgion (part 3 of the finale)

I do not yet know if the original broadcast versions are provided as well, but I'll let you know when I get to them on the discs.

Secondly, some early press materials mentioned commentaries, but they weren't in the later spec list, nor did they say what episodes they're on. Rest assured, they are here; again, the booklet says that there are commentaries on the following episodes (don't know who with yet, but):

Episode #6 Into You Like a Train
Episode #9 Thanks For the Memories
Episode #12 Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer
Episode #16 It's the End of the World
Episode #17 (As We Know It)

Third, the extra-long 27 episode season is spaced out by puting 5 on each disc, except for Disc 6 which includes #26-27 plus all the bonus features. I've watched four episodes thus far, and video quality does not seem to suffer for this, even though Lost and Desperate ousewives normally do 4 episodes per disc.

Fourth, the Code Black two-parter is indeed grouped together on the same disc, at the start of Disc 4. Unfortunately, Part 1 of the 3-part finale resides as the final episode on disc 5, requiring you to change discs to see parts 2 and 3 on disc 6. (However, since it originally aired over two nights anyway, this is forgivable.)

Lastly, though I doubt anyone will be surprised by this, let me confirm that the case format is identical to that of Desperate Housewives -- fold-out digipack with 3 panels, each panel holding 2 discs. Minor changes: the discs have character artwork on them this time rather than just the logo from Season 1's discs, and obviously there's no way that a plastic keepcase such as the first year came in will hold all this. So the case change is forgivable, and I like the character art.

Alright, that's all the major first impressions I can think of, so I'll leave it there for now. If anyone has any other questions, leave me a note in this thread and I'll see what I can do. In any case though, my review should be up sometime next week.

Wow, that's great news, it's so much earlier than its release date. Just wondering Jake- who're on the discs? I'm betting that probably Meredith, Izzy, Christina, George, McDreamy and either Bailey or Burke are on the discs. But then again, I'm probably wrong.

The character images on the discs are:

Disc 1 Meredith
Disc 2 Derek and Addison
Disc 3 George
Disc 4 Christina and Burke
Disc 5 Alex and Izzie
Disc 6 Bailey and Webber

Also, alas - the original broadcast versions of the episodes which have been extended are NOT provided at all (unless they are an elaborate Easter egg, which I seriously doubt.) Last night I saw the extended version of Thanks For the Memories, and it's really terrific; I doubt I would watch the broadcast cuts again anyway, but I still think they should be provided as an option for posterity. Plus, since It's the End of the World was such a milestone for the series and arguably the most important episode in the history of the show, it definately suckss to not have the broadcast version of it available.

Cool, thanks for that Jake. It sucks that the broadcast versions aren't on there- I wouldn't mind having them on the set, even if I wouldn't watch them as much as the extended versions. Hope the commentaries are good.

For those of you who are suckers for Bonus Disc's, as I am, Target will have Grey's Anatomy: The Complete Second Season w/Exclusive Bonus Disc, for $37.99!

So far, the contents aren't known, but, I am sure it will contain the recap episode, some deleted scenes not available on the DVD set, and perhaps interviews. I'll report back, when I know more details.

Jake Lipson must be very excited to have Grey's Anatomy: The Complete Second Season! I've seen him post this information at three or four different websites!

Hey, Jake...if you would quit posting all over the internet that you have Grey's Anatomy: The Complete Second Season on DVD, you might actually get the review finished! Wink

I'm giving you a hard time. I'd be excited, too. Now, get to that review!

Posting the same post at 3 or 4 different websites is not distracting from the review, it is a little something called *promoting UltimateDisney by mentioning on multiple other sites that I am going to do a review of a hot new release for it.* And this wonderful little site deserves all the traffic I can drive towards it.

I was watching and writing the review all last weekend and then had to break for school during the week, so I just finished the text portion of it today (there's a LOT of stuff to go through and it's a LONG review -- 11 pages, single-spaced, in my Word doccument.) I'm going to get screencaps shortly and then we'll go from there, but Luke has the text in his email, so quit hounding me, thankyou. Wink

Great review! This show is amazing!

And I too thought the Jimmy Kimmel thing was crap.

But I'm looking on YouTube for that shower scene parody and can't find it...can someone help me?
