Yes, I have seen it.

I thought that the coreography was fantastic! (considering the limitations presented on it, when you compare it to the film).

The costumes were also extremely creative and overall, amazing! :)
I agree with you, definately a unique experience! (I saw it last August...or, August 2005). I would see it again if I could!

I don't know how to do a link from the itunes store. I opened itunes, and went to the store section, and searched for The Lion King, and found the original Broadway cd. Hopefully that is of some help, or someone can provide a link.

Never saw it, even though I went to New York two or three times. I'm going back in May, but I might see Beauty and the Beast instead.. what do you suggest?

Yes. I saw TLK on Broadway a few years ago. I remember that I was completely dazzled by it. The entire ride home from New York I was just amazed at the beauty of it. I wish I could go see it again because it was so amazing, but sadly the cost is too much considering I've already seen it :(. I really, really want to see TLM when it gets to Broadway. I hope that it matches TLK in magnitude.

I saw it in Chicago, but it was the exact same show and was there for almost 3 years. I thought it was wonderful, but I prefer "Beauty and the Beast" to it. If you ever have the chance to see either show, do it. They are great and so is "Aida." I'm waiting on "Mary Poppins" and "Tarzan" to come to Chicago. "Wicked" is there and that is another great show.

I just found out that I might be going to see THE LION KING once again. It is slated to play a few different venues in Florida, and I might be going to see the show in Miami! The show is amazing and I would love to see it again!! :)

No, I haven't seen it. But, my mom bought tickets and we are going to go see it! I'm thrilled. I'm not exactly sure when we are going, but I think it is in late 06/early 07. I can't wait!

I've not seen any Disney on Broadway, as I've never been to New York. However, I've seen both The Lion King and Mary Poppins in London's West End as well as Beauty and the Beast two times on one of the UK/Ireland tours (at two different times as well). And these versions are essentially the same as the New York city counterparts (with more British accents, mind you :P). Of the shows that I saw, The Lion King sticks out to me as the best, though Beauty and the Beast soon follows.

I actually prefer Beauty and the Beast and Mary Poppins as films (though just margianly, mind you), but I like The Lion King better as a stage musical. Beauty and the Beast as a film is a perfect length, but a little bit stretched at times in the musical, though not particularly boring. Mary Poppins was a bit of a disappointment for me, I have to say. I really liked the art direction of the piece, as it really had a cool Tim Burton-esque feel to it whilst still retaining some of the look of the 1964 Disney film. But I feel that the attempts at making something which was "supposedly" more like the P.L. Travers stories and less like the movie was taken a bit too far and ended up seeming like something that was nothing like either the book or the film (which whilst not entirely faithful, regardless captured the feel of the books, in my opinion).

The Lion King succeeded more than Poppins and Beauty, as whilst it gave a visual reimagining of the film, it still was able to be faithful in terms of the plot's storyline and didn't seem as padded in places as Beauty could be.

Nope. But I was lucky enough to see Beauty and the Beast in London's West End several years ago.

Not seen The Lion King, would love to go down to London to see it, but it's just the difficulty in getting into the city, as I live in Yorkshire. Have seen The Legend of the Lion King at Disneyland Paris, which is a cut down version of the movie, and is a great show, with lots of visual effects and animatronic characters. I also saw Beauty and the Beast on it's recent UK tour and was blown away by that. They were handing out flyers for Disney on Ice - Princess Classics after BATB, which I went to see just over a week ago, which was fantastic.
Left. Waiting for account to be deleted.

Haven't seen it on broadway because that would refer to New York City, but I did see the show when it was on tour and it came through Michigan. The show was amazing! I live in Florida now and I might be seeing it next year too when it comes to Miami! Anyone who hasn't seen this show SHOULD, it's well worth the money!

I haven't seen it and I hate myself for it. I've never seen any musicals...  But I reeaally want to.
I've seen Cats, Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Jesus Christ: Superstar (really long time ago) and parts of Phantom Of The Opera all via VHS, but nothing live.
Do they have a Lion King Broadway show on DVD/VHS?
:pan: Love It.
