In TOY STORY 2, the toys are left on their own when their owner, Andy, heads off to Cowboy
Camp. Just as Woody rescues Wheezy, the asthmatic squeeze-toy penguin, from a yard sale,
he is stolen by a greedy toy collector, Al McWhiggin, the owner of Al's Toy Barn. Al takes him to
his apartment where Woody discovers that he is no ordinary toy, but a rare collectible from a
1950's television show called "Woody's Roundup." Woody learns he isn't the only prized toy
from the show as he meets the rest of the Roundup Gang - Jessie the cowgirl, Stinky Pete the
prospector, and Woody's own trusty steed, Bullseye.

Woody learns that the Roundup Gang has been in storage for years as Al has hunted for a
Woody doll to complete his collection so he can sell it to a Japanese toy museum where Woody
and the gang will be displayed behind glass forever.

Back across town, Buzz Lightyear leads a daring rescue team of Hamm, Slinky Dog, Rex and
Mr. Potato Head, to free Woody and remind him what being a toy is all about.

Ultimately, Woody must choose between going with his new friends, the Roundup Gang, with
their chance at being admired forever in a museum, and his old friends, Andy's toys, to lead the
short, but fun-filled life of a toy. This hilarious comedy classic raises the bar on family
entertainment to infinity and beyond!

Returning to write the score as well as two original songs for TOY STORY 2 is Academy
Award®-winning songwriter/composer Randy Newman (2002 Monsters, Inc., Original Song
winner). Also contributing to the music of the movie is multi-platinum recording artist and
Grammy Award® winner Sarah McLachlan who sings “When She Loved Me” (lyrics and music
by Randy Newman), which was nominated in 2000 for an Oscar® for Best Original Song. Hit
Western singing group “Riders in the Sky” sing the theme song from “Woody’s Roundup” TV
show, and the legendary Robert Goulet lends his signature vocal styling to a big-band rendition
of “You’ve Got a Friend in Me.”

TOY STORY 2 was directed by Pixar’s John Lasseter, who earned an Academy-Award.
(“Special Achievement”) in 1995 for Toy Story. John Lasseter is also an Oscar.-winner for
“Best Animated Short” (Tin Toy) 1988. Randy Newman was Oscar. nominated for TOY
STORY 2 for Best Original Song “When She Loved Me” (2000). Newman is also an Oscar.-

As much as I hate the shopping crowds on the 26th I'll probably be in line that day to pick it up.

Great!!! This is excellent news!

However like Toy Story 1, I'm pissed that the Pixar shorts don't come to DVD! I mean are they going to release them separately?

Oh man, this sounds like a great DVD set. I praise PIXAR for devoting the first disc only to the feature presentation (with the exception of the commentary and the Cars sneak peak, which shouldn't take up that much disc space) so that they can get superb video/audio quality.

The second disc sounds so awesome, I don't even care about the lack of the old PIXAR shorts. Maybe they're saving them for something special.

I guess I don't really have anything else to add to this pos-HOLY CRAP, WHAT'S THIS?!

Toy Story 2’s Cast of Characters

Is this a behind-the-microphone segment? Oh, please tell me this is a voice cast segment.

As always, I can't wait for the review. Oh, and since I'm 75% sure that Disney or PIXAR come to this site for feedback, I have some. We want better coverart for this release than the Toy Story 1 release.

I heart PIXAR DVDs.

Now I know why it isn't a Collector's Edition, because the Ultimate Toy Box was labeled that. I should think of getting it when it's at a low price.

Though the lack of Tin Toy on Toy Story 10th Anniversary Edition was disappointing, it was acceptable; the short had somehow become connected to the movie in video release. However, I am much more disappointed in Luxo Jr.'s absence from this set because Luxo Jr. played in front of all theatrical prints of Toy Story 2 in its original release, and so it feels...incomplete and incorrect to not have it on there. Including the shorts that ran with the movie in theaters allows for a more complete replication of the original theatrical experience.

I will still buy this, however, and am really looking forward to it. It looks in line with what has been expected, and will be a great compliment to the original's 10th Anniversary Edition which I love. Overall, great news!

Here, Here! I agree. I'll be awaiting the review, and surely hope there is better cover art for this release! I still can't understand what they were thinking when they came up with the Toy Story: 10th Anniversary Edition art?

By the way, can anyone tell me why this version (on Ebay) of The Ultimate Toy Box, is different from the one I have.

The one I have, the characters are colored in. Were two different versions released?

EDIT: I forgot to include the link to the item:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Toy-Story-The-Ultimate-Toy-Box-3-Disc-DVD-set-sealed_W0QQitemZ6433506904QQcategoryZ617QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

What is odd, is that the item description states that it is NEW/SEALED, and does look to include the clear plastic cover, but the characters are not colored in. So, would you all say this is a fake?

No, but bootleggers often don't even try to replicate the clear slipcover that went over the set.

Luke, I forgot to include a link to the auction. I have edited my post with the link, so you can see what I am talking about. If this is a bootleg, it looks to be a pretty good one!

It is a bootleg. I know because I was ripped off on ebay a few years ago and recieved that instead of the real thing that was in the supplied picture.
