To express my joy, I've decided to bring M. Bison into this. :)

It's about time, too! Especially in Beauty and the Beast's case! I mean, we (the fans in the United States) have been waiting FOREVER for this to happen! Good to know that Disney is giving us what we want! AND I'm especially pleased that The Little Mermaid's gonna get the 3D treatment, too!! :D

I so called the 'Monster's Inc." release! I think the "Beauty and the Beast" release will be odd being as they have already just released the DVD's and Blu-rays. They should have done that one already.

I too hope New Zealand gets Beauty and the Beast again on a nation wide release, because last year it was a Hoyts exclusive (in NZ Event Cinemas had Ponyo and Tinker Bell 3).

So, I'll definitely want to watch Beauty and the Beast and the Little Mermaid on the big screen.

In New Zealand and Australia for those who may not know and are interested, Beauty and the Beast comes out on Blu-ray 3D 30 November:

I just finished watching my 3D Blu of BatB and noticed the colors on that version of the film are close to those on my 1992 VHS. I first noticed it on the scene where Belle is singing by the fountain and the sheep come around, her skin tone is really fair and her hair is dark brown. Also Belle's yellow dress has white highlights instead of light yellow like on the regular 2D version. I don't have a BD player on my computer to take pictures but maybe someone else can confirm.

Is this WITH the 3D glasses on?

Anyways, if it helps, there are screencaps of the 3D Blu-ray here: http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Beauty-an ... creenshots

Its with the glasses on and off. The color difference remains the same when I disable the 3D feature on my TV while playing the 3D disc.

Here are some pictures I took of the same frames from both discs. Notice how the 3D version gains some picture vertically while loosing some horizontally:

Disney has pushed the Monsters, Inc 3D re-release to December 19, 2012.

At first, I thought this was a stupid idea on Disney's part, considering how usually competitive the Christmas season is. However, looking at the December schedule, there's actually not a single family film opening that month. So maybe they're taking advantage of that (though Wreck-It Ralph and Rise of the Guardians will still be playing and I imagine The Hobbit will play well to children).

I hope that means The Little Mermaid moves into an earlier 2013 spot soon. The sooner Disney re-releases it into theaters, the better.
