I guess I can get "Wild Hogs" because 1) it did pretty well financially and 2) there's never any accounting for taste. It is still surprising, though, that so many people think that's the sort of movie they'd want to see again and again.
"Ta ta ta taaaa! Look at me... I'm a snowman! I'm gonna go stand on someone's lawn if I don't get something to do around here pretty soon!"

Very interesting. There are some oddities and questions that arise from it, but it looks pretty believable. Interesting that the first Narnia movie sold well over two times as much as its sequel, from the latter's absence. I would have thought Enchanted to be higher. And it's amazing that the Toy Story movies don't make the list. I think that's a combination of DVD not having been adopted enough by families by 2000 when they were first released and then the movies having been widely and relatively recently purchased on VHS.
Thanks for posting it. Do we get to see the full list?

Disney in the Top 100 DVDs
Glad to see Luke stopping by to have fun!
If you can, only if yer around again, what's your avatar?
As for this list, it eases me to know some of the more popular ones actually suck, and I'm kind of torn over whether the it's good that the more popular ones are often the most recent theatrical ones...yet that means the classics get less recognition!
I'm pleasantly surprised to see Snow White a top here, and she's also suprisingly a top in lots of other things!

Thanks, Chaz.Chaz wrote:Sure, here's the full list:
From the list, I own 49 (it would've been 51 but I gave my DVDs of Shrek and The Fast and the Furious to my siblings). Of the remaining titles I don't have, there's a handful that I know I'll likely never be interested in (XXX, Talladega Nights, Austin Powers in Goldmember to name a few), while there are also some titles that I never got around to buying but really want (The Bourne Trilogy, for example).
I wonder if they have a list of this for movies pre-1975. That'd be interesting to see.
And I'm so psyched that The Notebook was #35 and Wedding Crashers was #81! Yay Rachel McAdams!
I guess Melvin is the bottom.Disney Duster wrote:I'm pleasantly surprised to see Snow White a top here, and she's also suprisingly a top in lots of other things!

Wait... Melvin!? Look, seriously, does anyone have any idea what that guy's name is? Is it Melvin!? Like, did any animator even jokingly refer to him as anything? I'm a nomenclature junkie, and I must know this dude's name!!!

It's a joke from zackiellovedisney's "who's famous and posting on UD?" thread. Brenders said he's Walt (well, Walt's head) and that Shrilly's prince's name was Melvin. Strangely enough, I'm not surprised you chose to comment on that and not on the whole top/bottom part!Margos wrote:Escapay wrote: I guess Melvin is the bottom.

When I heard you say that I broke out laughing. Anyway I don't think I have any of these DVDs in my house. Actually I don't think I have any DVDs at all. I might get the Princess and the Frog as my first DVD though. Actually I wonder how high that will rank on this list.I guess Melvin is the bottom.

I know, I saw that post! And yes, I remembered that, and I know that Brenders is never serious about anything.... But this is something that's been bugging me for a really long time!Escapay wrote:It's a joke from zackiellovedisney's "who's famous and posting on UD?" thread. For some reason it tickles me to see The Little Mermaid above Enchanted.
And even though I was never that crazy about Finding Nemo and it is Pixar-made, I'm glad to see Disney has the top spot.

Well, this IS a real top 100 list. It's a list of DVDs ranked by number of units sold. It's like ranking countries in order of size, it's not a question of opinion.
"Ta ta ta taaaa! Look at me... I'm a snowman! I'm gonna go stand on someone's lawn if I don't get something to do around here pretty soon!"
