Disney Conventions/Disney Celebs

Post by Maerj »

Has anyone here ever been to a Disney convention?

I know they have Disneyana conventions at Disneyland and WDW... but I have heard that there are other shows around too. I think it would be cool to get a chance to meet some of the Disney celebs and see a lot of the old collectibles and things.

Has anyone met any Disney celebs and/or gotten autographs?

As far as meeting Disney clebs and getting autographs, so far I got:

Met three from Atlantis: The Lost Empire:

Claudia Christian .... Helga Katrina Sinclair (voice)
Phil Morris .... Dr. Joshua Strongbear Sweet (voice)
Leonard Nimoy .... King Kashekim Nedakh (voice)

Others:

Tommy Kirk ...Old Yeller
Christopher Lee ...Witch Mountain
Alan Young ...voice of Scrooge McDuck
Jerry Bruckheimer, producer of Pirates of the Carribean
Bruce Boxleitner ...Tron
Roddy McDowall ...voice of Mr. Soil in A Bug's Life and the voice of Vincent, the Robot in The Black Hole.
Jonathon Harris ... Manny the Praying Mantis (voice) from Bug's Life
Joanna Cassidy... Dolores in Who Framed Roger Rabbit?

I *think* that's all I have... I might have to look around to see if I have any more.

None here, but I did play the role of Cookie Monster once at a mall in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. $50 for an hour (big $$ for a HS freshman) and a ton of kids brought me bags of cookies...but man was that suit hot! I had the CM walk down pat, too. Parents were laughing just watching me swaddle thru the mall.

So...I guess I'm a celebrity of sorts.

Or maybe not :(

Well, I've never been to any conventions, besides the fact that I've only heard of Disneyanna, and pretty recently too :P. And as for signings, I have gotten none! :(. I don't know where to go to get them as the Atlanta area is GAY!

As I've probably said before, I've never been to Disney World and never to a convention...but that's very cool, Terry, that you've met all those people. Sounds like they'd be a lot of fun!

Thanks Luke. I have never been to a Disney convention, I got all those folks at different events, conventions, stalking, etc...

I brought up the Disney conventions because I would love to go to one, I just wish that they had some smaller ones that would be around the country, like they have Star Trek conventions. It would be cool to see a lot of the old collectible merchandise and to meet some of the folks who help make the films, the actors, etc.

I never heard of a Disney Convention.

I'd love to get an autograph from a couple of people, but I need to find their agents. Hmm. Let me do a search. Any other ideas :? Lacey Chabert and Neve Cambpell are cool. If the Party of Five TV show is still running, I could've sent them a letter.

You are!

You are Cookie!

You are the coolest person alive.

"Me looooooove Cookie!"

"Oh me so full, but there always room for one more COOKIE!"

"Me left me cookie at the Disco"

I am going to find a cookie monster avatar now....
