I always thought the setup for TLK was a little odd going by how real lions work. Plus Mufasa and Scar look nothing alike. But that’s suspension of disbelief for you.

That's true. But in the movie it's made clear they're brothers. They call each other brother, and Simba calls Scar his uncle.

Disney released a note saying the producer's comment was of especulative nature and that they're indeed brothers, like they say in the whole friggin movie

I'm glad they cleared that up, so the rumors will stop.

Yes, the cloud has been put back in the blu-ray release and the new digital copy has it too.

Nice. Any other changes? I don't suppose the 2D castle opening is back is it?

No, the intro remains the same as in the Diamond Edition where it has the CGI castle and the opening bit of the African savanna sounds cut off.

Forgive me if I add more fuel to the Disney revisionism fire, but here's something I never noticed until I watched the movie last night. At some point in the movie's history (I think it was for the Platinum DVD), Mufasa's smile when he sees Rafiki in "Circle of Life" was modified into something less toothy.

Very interesting! Where is the first screengrab taken from? (the toothier one)

And what a shock, I like the old colors better than the new ones. I actually compared the Non-toothy screengrab to my platinum dvd.... the dvd isnt quite as washed out. Phew! Plus, tinkering with settings you can get to the same palette (which you cannot do with BATB or Cinderella).

I'm glad Elton John intervened. Although, tbh, I've never cared for the in-film singer of CYFtLT anyway. The only version I can listen to is Elton John's own take (well, a few other covers out there, too).
