If you're too lazy to read, or if you're too dumb to get the link to work (one may need to add or subtract a few letters from that url) I will post here the juiciest bit from the article.
The following are promotional stills showing what the finished films will look like. Here we can see Donald Duck at Lake Titicaca, Pedro, as well as an exclusive look at the state-of-the-art hand-drawn animation that will be ... subcontracted to South Korea.Truthful Tom wrote:Disney have just announced that they will remake the original "Saludos Amigos" as a massive live-action project spanning four, four-hour films, each one an adaptation of each seven-minute segment of the original Saludos Amigos. No CGI will be used. Instead, the film-makers will opt for practical and optical effects to recreate Saludos' cartoony aesthetic in a three-dimensional, realistic way. Peter Jackson will direct, and has already insisted on shooting all four movies in 1607 fps, though that number could possibly decrease to 5 if Disney decide the films are costing more than they will potentially recoup. So far we have information on the first two films in the pipeline.
Donald Duck at Lake Titicaca will star a real-life duck named Josephine, as Donald. Josephine is really keen, and the film-makers reckon the only snag in the plan is that being female, the duck - as Donald - may lay an occassional egg on camera. Oh well ... nothing the special effects artists can't remove.
I have been told Pedro the airplane will be played by modest-sized aircraft.
Oh yes, and as an homage to the original film, each of the new motion pictures will be bookended by hand-drawn animated footage *gasp* of the WDAS crew at a South American beach.
I can't wait!
