I am very excited to see The Great Gatsby. I wasn't floored when I read the novel, but this looks like it'll be a fantastic film. And the soundtrack, from the few tracks that have been released, is pretty awesome (I love Young and Beautiful, Over the Love, and Kill and Run).

The Great Gatsby and After Earth.

I hope Gatsby does well, because I keep getting a strange feeling it might end up like one of those movies that gets promoted to death and then flops. Dicaprio is a great choice for Gatsby, imo.

If Baz Luhrmann wasn't directing, I probably would see Gatsby. I do agree though that DiCaprio is a good choice. Maybe I'll rent it when it comes out on Blu-Ray, but until then no interest.

Another disastrous remake for Hollywood, is the "Great Gatsby". The original is so much better, and Lenny DiCrapio is not even in the same league as Redford. See the original before you waste your money on this remake. (I went to an Advanced Screening last night of this piece of Crapio.)

I am looking forward to:

Iron Man 3 (like many others, I will be seeing this multiple times)

Star Trek Into Darkness

Fast & Furious 6

Another Earth

The Great Gatsby is the only one I have any interest in. But I'll probably hold out to see it until after I'm done the book, I haven't gotten the chance to read it yet.

Technically, the "original" is the silent film version from 1926, not the one with Robert Redford. Luhrmann's The Great Gatsby is not meant to remake the '74 or '26 or '46 version, but rather be its own adaptation of the original book. Why do people constantly use the term "remake" so willy-nilly? Is the musical Les Miserables with Hugh Jackman a remake of the version with Liam Neeson or the 1935 version with Charles Laughton?

I realized the other day, that The Great Gatsby is going to be in 3D. That's an odd choice to me. It looks like a mix between Moulin Rouge and The Romeo and Juliet that starred Leonardo Dicaprio which I wasn't a fan of either. I though Moulin Rouge was horrible. I'll pass on this one. However I do feel Leonardo Dicaprio is a great actor, but I'm just not a fan of these types of films

Like I said, Iron Man 3, Star Trek 2, and possibly Epic though that will probably be a rental for me, depending how much my money situation is.

Thank you. Thank you. I've been saying this for years. Are people suddenly not allowed to adapt a book/musical that has already been adapted? They're not necessarily drawing inspiration or remaking films that have been done in the past, they're taking the book and creating their own film.

@estefan: I agree. The new adaptation is based on the book and not that other film that was released decades ago. The credit goes to Fitzgerald first, let's keep in mind.

And I saw the other adaptation years ago, btw.

Iron Man 3 was pretty good. I enjoyed it except for that one unfortunate twist, if you saw it then you know... I saw Star Trek last weekend and I loved it. Action packed! I really wanted to see Epic with the first trailer but I lose interest with each new trailer. It looked better when they just showed the imagery with that song playing in the background. Now they are just showing joking slugs, which I find less appealing. Oh well.
