Silly me, I went and bought the local edition of LK 2 (which is only a single disc), and I've gone and missed out on the CGI elephant.

Why, dammit, why??!?! 8)

Looking forward to 'One by One'. I think it is the most interesting thing about the whole venture.

I have no regret buying the Lion King 2 dvd here in Belgium instead of the R1 dvd, but the menus look WAY nicer though!

I still haven't checked the Brazilian edition (I intend to buy it when they release that box set with the three movies) but I've seen screen caps from the menus and the region 1 sure does looks better. And they seem to be animated! :P But that's what matters the least, isn't it?

I scrolled past the Virtual Safari clips (I wanna wait and see all that when I have the DVD in my hand), but the menus look great, very rich colors. They look like they could be animated (is that water running?), but perhaps we'll have to wait and see. Thanks again, Luke.

I like how these Fastplay menus are all on ressemblance to each other. Play has a play button, Scene Selection has the storyboard, Bonus Features has a (?) fortune cookie, Set Up has the wrenches, and Sneek Peeks has the camera. Not sure what exactly that is beside the Bonus Features, but I certainly dont know what I'd put! I like the colorful menus here, and am glad it's not a TLK menu disaster. I'm beginnig to think that this EasyFind thing isn't so bad after all.... :)

I hate the easy play, easy find menus! they're so ugly, makes the DVD so kiddie and only stupid people need them! they should have two dif releases easy junk with the foolscreen and animated/complex menus with the widescreen.

What on earth were they thinking with that ridiculous continent thing? A whole lot of fuss for relatively lackluster bonus features.

I think I'll be getting this one just for the One by One short film. The animation looks incredible, and I've always loved the song. I just hope it has a slip cover like the other Lion Kings, or else they'll look strange on my shelf.

Everything that Disney's released at this point shows it not having a slip-cover. Which is silly, because like you say, it won't match. But I don't believe they've released anything in slip-covers since TLK 1½, so who knows what to expect.

Welcome to the posting side of the forum, in any event! :eye:

I liked the menus on the lion king disc 2. I think it would have benefited in having the features in individual continents not all over which made it hard to navigate!

I'm with MMB. Universal had a period at the start of DVD where they tried to use standard symbols for each feature (in Universal's case horrible coloured balls) and the menu design's suffered as a result. You can't just put the same icons on every menu and expect them to work.

I think this is a step backwards.

That's great.

I just picked my French copy (which released in a single disc set at the beginnig of July) and there's less things to see, less bonus features and just on a single disc.
In Europe, no Virtual Safari, no Rafiki's Challenge Game and just one music video, and all that in a regular single disc DVD keep case

Well, the DVD is more for my sisters than for me so I don't really care :D :) . Plus, I don't really like this movie more than that.
Chandler (to Phoebe, over the phone) : Listen, Joey isn't gonna be here tonight so why don't you come over and I'll let you uh.. feel my bicep; or maybe more...

Very Very great menus again from Disney.
This is one of the best sequels I love to watch and it reminds me of Romeo and Juliet very much.
First Hamlet with the original The Lion King and know this I guess Disney likes William Shakespeare. :)
Very, Very powerful sequel.

Wow thanks Luke for the information. I actually like the menus the colors look awsome and I am big on color perosnally I dont see the whol deal with the easy play I can't tell any major difference or maybe I am not looking at the right thing. But the menus look wonderful and I am really looking foward to the animeated short One by One now that I have a picture to it. YAY soon it will be in my hands :D .

I'm with Netty. It's too much like the standard buttons for Play, FF, RW, etc. I don't understand why menus have to be simplified to this extent. Can people not read? If it says "Music," I don't think we need a music symbol beside it for people to understand. And must we have it phrased exactly the same on every DVD? Creativity in DVD menus is being seriously stifled here, which is a shame. Uniformed menus will surely grow tiring.
