That's true in theory, but it was probably edited using video technology (nearly all TV series and DTV productions of the 90s did so), and so will have a tape-based master.

Oh.

At least there won't be artifacts such as macro-blocking, though, I suppose. Sigh. A marginal improvement then, I guess.

Anything upcoming and exciting to add to the UK announcement thread ? The DVDs are terribly cheap now in HMV along with Blu's going down to £12/£15.

Without starting a new thread, why are Bambi II and Lady and the Tramp II not available individually but coupled with originals? Does anyone know if there are plans for individual releases?

^There's not really a reason why. WDSHE UK just decided so. It must have been a marketing decision. As for individual releases, I highly doubt it. If Bambi II didn't get one so far, I don't think LatT II will get one either.

These sets however, are not like the 2-Movie Collection in the U.S where both movies share the same packaging (and sometimes the same disc). In the UK, both Bambi and LatT sets only share a removable cardboard box. Inside there are two separate cases for each movie. They don't come with slipcovers though.

I get that, I just wish I had known that they won't be available separately before I bought Bambi and LatT. Oh, well, I guess I'll just have to track them down from second-hand dealers. Then again, Lion King sequels are getting individual releases, so maybe there's still hope for these two.

What I do not understand at all is how the prices of Disney Blu/DVD's vary so wildly ?

One moment they can be £7 for a DVD, £12 for a Blu, then the next they become £25 for blue and £20 for DVD ! Why is that ?

BOGOF is now on in HMV for those interested.

101 Dalmatians is included in the offer as well.

Interesting. Could this mean that the film will finally get a DVD release in the UK?

 Make it blu!

The package features would look great in hi-def, owing to their stylistic diversity.

Well oddly enough, it's runtime has been passed at 75 mins. The previous uncut UK VHS release was 72 mins (with PAL speedup). Since there is no PAL speedup for blu, blu ray films run their original length.

The runtime certainly seems to suggest it will be blu...

This February or March, I expect.

Don't know how much I'll benefit from the next one though, since I've mostly shifted to buying USA Disney releases. I wish they'd put the Chicken Little and Meet the Robinsons Blu-rays as part of the BOGOF ... I'd buy them. Weren't included last time, though.

I think that's where I have gone wrong; I presumed everything was region locked, so have missed out on some superior American Blu releases.

Here's hoping 1st March will be the start of this year's first BOGOF.

Oooo do you think so? Need to top up on the remaining (and dull) Blu Classic releases. Will be going for the US versions of Mulan and & Hunchback though.

Drat. No BOGOF.

Didn't the last BOGOF start on the 1st day of September? That was exactly 6 months ago.
