Disney's Arjun: The Warrior Prince
Arjun: The Warrior Prince is an Indian cel-shaded CG film produced by UTV Motion Pictures. It was completed in 2010 but will be released in India on May 25, 2012. Disney has recently acquired UTV and therefore the movie will be released under the Disney label. This is the second fully-animated Indian film to be released under the Disney name. The first one was Roadside Romeo, a Disney and Yash Raj Films co-production.

Doubtful. It may get a DVD release in the U.S. through the 'Disney World Cinema' label. So far, none of the releases through this label feature an English dub. The only foreign movie that I know which got an English dub was the Chinese "The Secret of the Magic Gourd" but that was not part of the 'Disney World Cinema' line. It was released on DVD before the line was created and it hasn't been re-released since.MJW wrote:With Disney's acquisition of this company, will the film be released outside of India? If so, would Disney dub it in English or would it be released with subtitles?

I just watched the trailer. Some random thoughts:
-Not a fan of the animation style at all. It's just like that horrid "Iron Man: Armored Adventures" cartoon, which I gave up on after five minutes from the first episode.
-Some parts remind me of "John Carter" while some remind me of Dreamwork's "Prince of Egypt."
-Seems kind of violent to have the "Disney" name on it.
I want to like it, some parts looked interesting, but I think I'll ultimately have to pass on this, English or no English dub.

I most say that I like it
Since I also collect all Disney soundtracks that are released, I wonder if you have come across any note about a soundtrack being released? There is some difficulty sometimes to get a real physical CD from Disney India (so much pirated copies out there ), but I have succeded with the other Indian releases of Disney co-produced/distributed films, so I hope there will be one for this film as well.

'Arjun: The warrior Prince' has a classical look, says director Arnab Chaudhuri

Thanks for letting us all know, Sotiris!
I really like it. I mean i'm not the biggest fan on the animation style, but it doesn't bother me too much. The thing that I really liked from the trailer was the atmosphere. I really liked the design of the people and backgrounds, and how they interacted with it. I mean when they shot that fish, that was pretty cool. I'll probably watch it on youtube later.

It's violent
Der Fuehrer's Face is the greatest Donald Duck cartoon ever made.

I couldn't find anything about a physical release but there's an official digital one. You can buy it on iTunes.Chernabog wrote:Since I also collect all Disney soundtracks that are released, I wonder if you have come across any note about a soundtrack being released?

I should rephrase,Lnds500 wrote:Care to elaborate?PatrickvD wrote:But those movies should just stay there.
Sure Disney can release it anywhere, but aren't these films catered very specifically to a region? They'll find little success outside the region it was made for. Didn't Disney make something similar for Russia? I don't think that was released outside that region either.
