People Asking Too Many Questions

Post by Semaj »

"What's that?"

"Is that a YouTube video?"

"Who made it?"

"When was it made?"

"What happens?"

"Why did he say that?"

"Why did you laugh like that?"

"How is it supposed to be funny?"

"Are you okay?"

"Are you SURE you're okay?"

"How come you're not answering my questions?"

"Are you avoiding me?"

"HELLOOOO....CAN YOU HEAR ME?????"

This has been a long-time problem in my regular life. But lately, it's really been bothering me. It feels like at every turn, I'm required to answer a barrage of questions that I might have no immediate answers to. Sometimes, even at my meager job at the movie theatre, I might be able to answer a few questions while I'm focusing on another task, but then I get stabbed with MORE questions that pokes into my train of thought.

"I can't read. What does that sign say?"

"How much is the popcorn?"

"Which ones are the small bags?"

"Are they the red ones?"

"How much salt does it have?"

"Why is it 25 cents more than the price listed?"

"What's a sales tax?"

"How much salt does the popcorn have?"

"What drinks do you sell?"

"Is that Regular Pepsi or Diet Pepsi?"

"How can you tell?"

"How come you don't sell salsa with nachos?"

"Where is the bathroom?"

"Which way is my movie playing?"

"Which way is left?"

I mean, I can see if a customer really, really needs help, or if a friend just wants to learn more about me, or share a moment of joy. But it becomes a major burden in a life already plagued with frequent confusion and last minute changes. It's even worse when people become offended/disappointed when I'm not able to meet the bizarre expectations they make for me.

Maybe it's just me. Many times, I never get the right answers until long after the moment has passed. Other times though, I just want to keep quiet and relax with my daily business without having to please everyone.

Does anyone else have this problem? At work or in general?

What you are complaining about is what we call "Good Customer Service", and apparently you don't give that type of service. You might think about finding another job that you are subjected to four walls and a desk and NO questions!!!!

When you are at work, you should have a smile, and answer any and all questions as quickly as possible. Believe me, I have worked in a movie theater a lot longer than you have been on this earth. If you were working for me, you wouldn't have a job very long.

Sorry to be so blunt, but those are the facts!

I've worked in customer service long enough to know that there ARE the rude, annoying customers who are impossible to please. I don't claim to be perfect in any way, which is part of the point to this thread, but my attitude towards my current job is something like Donald Duck's in "Bellboy Donald" (1942).

Anyway, the movie theatre is not the source of my question problem. Maybe it's a weakness in my communication skills; I'm often described by family and friends as a quiet guy. It feels like I'm letting someone down when I can't give a quick, clear answer, which I have been working on. If we're planning an outing and I volunteer to help out, or if we're telling jokes, things work so much better when everyone is on the same page. Of course, there's always someone who's NOT, so it's extremely awkward and frustrating when I have to explain EVERY LAST BIT of what would be so glaringly obvious to everyone else.

It gets to the point where I just stop caring.

Why?

What's up?

How soon is now?

Do ya think I'm sexy?

Are you lonesome tonight?

How do I live without you?

Where is the love?

What's love got to do with it?

What about love?

What is love?

Is this love?

Why do fools fall in love?

Could it be I'm fallin' in love?

Can you feel the love tonight?

Do you believe in love?

Do you love me?

How deep is your love?

Will you still love me tomorrow?

Do you feel like I do?

How will I know?

Will you marry me?

Don't you want me, baby?

When will I see you again?

Why must you treat me so bad?

Why does my heart feel so bad?

Do you really want to hurt me?

What have I done to deserve this?

Who's crying now?

How can you mend a broken heart?

Where do broken hearts go?

Should I stay or should I go?

What's a girl to do?

What have you done for me lately?

What do I have to do?

Who do you think you are?

Who are you?

Who let the dogs out?

How much is that doggie in the window?

What's new, pussycat?

Why are we waiting?

What you waiting for?

Can you dig it?

Can I kick it?

What's my age again?

How do you like me now?

Why can't we be friends?

Who's that lady?

Isn't she lovely?

Who's that girl?

Have you seen her?

Have you ever seen the rain?

Who'll stop the rain?

Where have all the cowboys gone?

Do you know the way to San Jose?

Are you gonna go my way?

Didn't we almost have it all?

Does anybody really know what time it is?

Does your mother know?

Is there something I should know?

Why didn't you call me?

Where have you been?

Whose bed have your boots been under?

Who can it be now?

Who's Johnny?

Who is he and what is he to you?

Does your chewing gum lose its' flavor on the bedpost overnight?

Would I lie to you?

Who's zoomin' who?

Anybody seen my baby?

Do you wanna know a secret?

Don't it make my brown eyes blue?

Do you believe in magic?

Are friends electric?

What's the frequency, Kenneth?

How do you solve a problem like Maria?

How do you talk to an angel?

Have you never been mellow?

Do you wanna dance?

Wouldn't it be nice?

How's it gonna be?

Can I get a witness?

Why should I worry?

I feel this way with my mom.

Customers, on the other hand, are a little easier.
