Pixar Short Films Collection: Volume 2

Post by Sotiris »

Enrico Casarosa: We have recorded an audio commentary track [for 'La Luna'] that explains all the things that have gone on behind, but that’s the closest we’ve come to having a little bit of a making-of; at least there’s a commentary track.

Q: Will 'La Luna' be on the DVD for Brave hopefully?

Enrico Casarosa: Actually, it’s supposed to be on the DVD of the shorts. You know, there’s a new shorts [collection], and that’ll be available soon.

Q: When’s that due out, the second shorts collection?

Chris Wiggum [Pixar publicist]: We haven’t announced that date yet, so, there’ll be an announcement about that coming up in the next, the next few months I would guess.

Excellent news!!! I am glad they are going to release a second volume. I wonder if it will include any of the Toy Story Toons, or if they will save and compile them for a dedicated release, much like Cars Toons: Mater's Tall Tales?

Without the Toy Story Toons, the line-up would probably be:

Your Friend the Rat
Presto
BURN-E
Partly Cloudy
Dug's Special Mission
Day & Night
La Luna

I also wonder if they will put an exclusive short(s) on this set, since all of the above (except La Luna) can be found on previous Blu-ray releases. Kind of like how the early Pixar shorts were an incentive to buy Volume 1.

Woah. I'd like to see volumes one and two bundled on Blu-ray.

I would love any excuse to get Volume 2! :) I hope they put exclusive short(s) on this set as well. Maybe even make another new one especially for this set (ala Cars Toons: Mater's Tall Tales).

I was expecting the cover color to be blue.

I was too, but this looks nice also. I just hope the spine matches the cover...

I'm glad they are keeping the designs consistent!

Great cover! Although I thought they ditched that blu-ray logo and blue spine years ago. The only inconsistency is the logo and the spine not saying "Disney Pixar"...but that's not enough to bother me :) Can't wait for this!

No, there isn't a release date yet. It will be released in Germany in November. It has already been released in Benelux (only on DVD).

Here's the Benelux DVD:
