I wish I could redo Mulan 2 and have the plot changed from Mulan and the gang escorting three princesses to be married to the protaganists defending off rebels who have emerged after the Huns attacked.

The reason why is the moral was really shoved down our throat and so obvious that it hurt. And I also felt that the moral also about arranged marriage was kinda of stupid espically the fact the arranged marriage was supposed to help China gain an alliance.I also think they changed Mulan from being a selfless person who puts duty over herself to another heroine who follows her heart even when its obvious she needs to do her duty.

I also hate the fact that Mulan takes offense at the arranged marriage espically in the fact that she herself was going to be in one in the first movie. It seems like the writers for the sequel just plain forgot about that and just changed her pesonality into something very generic.

Plus I felt that Mulan 2 lacked a good villian and that is the reason why I would have changed the plot to being about Mulan trying to defend China from some rebels because of the fact that sometimes villians do make the plot.

I'd say just keep the Aladdin and Lion King sequels. The rest are all garbage.

I mean Aladdin sequels were done right with style and dignity.I mean they tried to make it not into a shoddy cash in but put effort into it.Besides they had some songs in there that I could really sing to.Espically Aladdin and the King of Thieves which is hands down the best Aladdin sequel. Also Lion King Simba's Pride in my opinion also a good for a sequel movie as well espically the fact I love the songs and the villianess who knew how to hold her own.

Even Cinderella III? That one had so, so much effort put into it too.

I tend to avoid Disney DTV sequels as much as possible. A lot of them just look terrible just from their trailers. I would get rid of most of them as most of the users here have already stated.

I'd delete every single one of them. They're all terrible.

It's obvious in many ways that the later sequels did have a lot more polish (especially with regards to animation), but the fact is that it still doesn't make them better per se. One problem lies with the fact that it's tricky, if not impossible, to make a sequel made years after a given film to completely fit in with the original's continuity, especially with regards to general production values. It's easy to tell, for example, that the likes of Cinderella III and Bambi II were digitally coloured and processed, whereas the originals were all hand painted and shot by analogue cameras.

My main problem, however, is that the majority of sequels are just so poorly conceived, as though the producers truly don't care about what they're doing. I have little good to say about Cinderella III in terms of premise, execution and continuity with the original. Having the stepmother delve into black magic is just so out of character (she's supposed to be a domestic villain as opposed to an all-powerful sorceress!), and the whole story is too far-fetched and consequently distanced from the original classic for my liking. Believe it or not, though, my feelings on Cinderella III are probably not as negative as other Disney DTV sequels or spin-offs!

Anyway, there's a reason why I requested earlier in this thread that all sequels be buried away never to be seen again. Despite modest budgets and whatnot, a lot of them could have had an increased consideration of continuity and more general effort put into them. Thank goodness that no new ones are being produced (aside from some terrible Tinker Bell films, of course )

The animation was not as good as the orginal but I can say the writing for the Aladdin and Lion King sequels were better than most sequels. The animation was average but I can say I am more willingly to watch those movies again and again.Espically Aladdin and the King of Theives.

They do look bad, but they're the closest you could say any of the sequels have a "good story." Personally, I'd rather watch film-centered TV episodes over most sequels; the TV series usually involve more creativity. Usually.

Eliminate "Cinderella II" and make "Cinderella III" "Cinderella II."

Interesting topic.

Even though I was surprised by Cinderella 3, both the look and the story, I agree it doesn't connect well with the original. And I agree about it not right turning Lady tremaine into a would-be sorceress.

I'm not completely against sequels. I think the aladdin sequels were pretty decent, story wise, but the animation was pretty terrible. Those could be re-done, and the story tweaked a little bit to make them more consistent.

I cant think of any other sequels that I liked. I think the first rule should be that if the makers of the original are dead, THEY SHOULD NOT MAKE A SEQUEL TO THEIR FILM. They arent here to give their input. (except Fantasia, which is a whole different story!)

I was imrpressed with the visuals of Lion King 1 1/2, but felt the story took away some of the majesty of the original, and was, in general, pretty low brow. Lion King 2 I;ve chosen to block out of my memory... from what I recall, it was boring and barely connected with the original.

I;ve tried watching Little Mermaid 2 twice...both times I fell asleep through it.

I think most of the cheapquels should be scrapped... and they should only make one if there is a REAL story to tell, that lives up to the original.
