Question on Original Vintage Disney/RKO logos

Post by monks19 »

Hi, I saw that on (relatively) recent releases (DVD & BR) that some of the Classics (Ex.: Dumbo) had recently recovered theit original RKO logo in the feature (same for the shorts). But some still haven't (can't say for the BR): Bambi & Cinderella (among others).

Is it still the case on their BR release (Bambi & Cinderella) ? Aparently, they are on the laserdiscs, but cannot be confirmed (for Cinderella at least).

Here's a samble that somebody did post on Flickr:

I do think Bambi still miss the RKO logo and some referance to RKO on the BR, But I don't know about Cinderella. Since its not yet out. But What I have heard about Pinocchio is that some letters are not orginal as something more should have been spelled on the card that follows the RKO logo In Tecinicolor than just Tecnicolor. Peter Pan should be the last one to have RKO allthough I'm not to sure about Lady and The Tramp. Although I don't think the feature are all that comperable to the shorts since none shorts had the rko LOGO BEFORE THE SUNBEEM logo until mid 50s. All features and shorts having Buena vista from 1937-1953, are reissue prints, while all cartoons having RKO logo are original in some cases but recreation in others.
Der Fuehrer's Face is the greatest Donald Duck cartoon ever made.
