Yes she looks like that. I hope it's because she's secretly plotting to destroy her new design and go back to her original one.

I just noticed Snow White has much more of a makeover now, they finally made her hair different again with this chance, and I actually think it was better before, hard to believe they could make it worse.

I wanted to say about these makeovers, they really betray who the princesses are. It's not building on history or "heritage" to have them look like this. Cinderella's original hair fit the era of both the film's setting and the time it was made, and it made her look well-kept, mature, classy, and regal. This one looks messy and knotted, dangling loose and not crown-like in the bun. And I bet you could say this about how many of the other makeovers just betray who the characters are just like that, as well as their heritage.

The Disney Store has added a lot of new merchandise based on the re-design of the princesses.

And if enough fans complain, it may die even sooner than that. Anyone care to join me in banding together to stop this thing?
Actually, I kinda like the new design, because, honestly, I didn't like Cinderella's old hairdo. This one is much better. And besides, now they're finally going to have new poses, not the same ones Disney uses over and over and over and over again! :)

This franchise is aimed at little girls and I think they will be more than satisfied when they will see their beloved princesses with sparkles on their dresses. That's just my opinion!

To be fair, some of these ladies have looked the same (bar some scary off-model work sometimes) for a reeeaaaally long time. Why not a bit of a change up ? Clearly, they arent going as far as doing it for coverart (witness the Cinderella Diamond), so whats the beef ?

Personally, I am all for it. As long as they don't change their physical appearance, I say whats wrong with a bit of renovation ? :P

They aren't even THAT different, really. Just some serious va-va-voom going on with their hair.

The biggest problem I have with these redesigns is the same I've always had with the princess clipart - the drawings themselves. They aren't very strong. They don't have nearly the dimension that these characters all have in their respective movies. The anatomy just seems off for some reason in a lot of them... I would like to see these redesigns done by people who KNOW the characters - for instance, if James Baxter did a drawing of this 'new' Belle, I'm sure it would look fantastic.

It's so disturbing to always see Tiana and Jasmin in the back of these group pictures. And Pocahontas and Mulan too if they're even allowed to show up.

Leaves one to wonder if Disney is bigoted... Nah. If they were, they wouldn't have made Aladdin, Mulan, Pocahontas or The Princess and the Frog in the first place.

No, they just know their core audience. Regardless of how one feels about it, the fact is that a backpack highlighting Pocahontas, Tiana, and Mulan would not sell NEARLY as well as one highlighting Rapunzel, Ariel, and Cinderella.

What sucks is that Jasmine, Tiana, Pocahontas and Mulan are minorities, compared to Ariel, Rapunzel, Snow White and the other princesses.

Well I don't think it's that personally. It's just the others seem to sell more merchandise. Which is a shame because I love Mulan and Pocahontas.

Surely nearly have the lineup are from Ethically different backgrounds so I don't really see ANY Princess and a minority.

Sure Tiana is in the back in that image. But she is center character in other artwork!

I think Rapunzel is centered most of the time because she is the most recent. Tiana was centered a lot more prior to Tangled's release. Apart from Rapunzel being up front and center for being new, it looks as if they kinda rank in order of popularity. Ariel and Cinderella are probably the most popular and the rest sort of shift in and out leaving Mulan, Pocahontas, and Jasmine to battle out for the last spot. I think Jasmine is kinda shoved to the side a lot more now since Aladdin isn't really about her, and she used to be the rep for minorities. Now Tiana has taken her place.

And, seriously? Do you really think that Disney cares that you don't like this new design? You think that when they'll see your message here, they will say "That's it! One fan isn't satisfied with their design, so we'll change it back!"? and anyways, what are you planning to do to stop this thing, protest?!

You bet it's your opinion that this new hairdo for Cinderella is better! Admittedly in almost all the Disney princess art and even some screencaps from the film didn't make her hair look good but if drawn the right way it was was something much more beautiful than this new one.

I know it's just for little girls, but its changing who the princesses are into something modern just to get today's modern girls to like them. As for what I was planning to do, as soon as I got enough people to say they would join me, I was thinking of online protesting and petitioning, writing to Disney, and then perhaps protesting in real life somewhere. But people hardly care about what I do. A lot people let things go that I find very bad. I'm sad very often. But nobody cares so what can I do.

Yes, it's true that the majority of the Disney Princess sales come from white girls. And most little, white girls don't want to play with non-white dolls. That's reassuring.  (Although, it could really be because Jasmine is not the main character of her film and Pocahontas, Mulan, and Tiana are all fairly serious characters. At least, I would think that if I thought their personalities had anything to do with this line. )

I do hate these designs, but the only big offenders to me are Cinderella and Jasmine, who are verging on Bratz. I also hate that they've matured Ariel in the images, almost as if they're trying to have Rapunzel to take over the "fun, vibrant" role that Ariel always had among the others. I also think Rapunzel's clip art is the ugliest of them all. Tiana's dress kind of looks out-of-place with its classic design amongst the cheap makeovers.

The colors of the Rapunzel doll costume, where the colors are placed, should have been how it was in the movie I think.
