I was watching Vowellet: An Essay by Sarah Vowell from The Incredibles dvd. There a part in the video where it shows cahararcter designs of Violet's classmates. I like the look and appeal of them and want to screencapture it.

Only fucking problem is My mac(or any Mac per se) won't allow to screen capture while dvd playing. I tried downloading and trying out programs like Capture Me, Snag and drag, etc. All don't work for me.

You have any ideas or ways I can do this?

Do you have VLC Media Player? It allows you to take captures and you can run it on Macs and use it to play DVDs I think.

I would be if I couldn't take screencaps.

Yeah, I know how you feel. I've been trying to screencap the 25th Anny Edition of the Black Cauldron to no avail.

I've got Windows, so I can't really offer much help in the ways of Mac-N-Cheese... :(

The only thing that really worked for me when it came to screencapping was Media Center. Except, for some unknown reason, it won't work for me anymore. Saying I need a "DVD Decoder".

Why it says that now when I was able to watch DVD's perfectly before is beyond my knowing.

The guides are no help at all! I've looked at guides for Windows Media Player, followed those instructions, but nothing...

Unfortunately for copyrighted video content(anything in a game being the exception) best bet is an HD PVR, and those are $150.
