The cover of the newest Disney Princess magazine in Brazil features the 'makeover' princesses.

Dangit they still have the fairy godmother's magic upside down. It's supposed to fall like rain. It always looked nice rising with the castle towers that way though. But I thought they'd make new magic effects with the new castle and coach that I think they made specifically for this merchandise look.

I'm kinda pissed that they have decided to use this makeover in the official toys for Cinderella's Diamond Edition release. I was hoping her makeover would just be for Disney Princess, not Cinderella: Diamond Edition. Just tacky.
But here it is, her new design in her new Fairy Tale Castle for her Diamond Edition, with some very nice things related to her chateau but no proper ballroom, garden, or slipper-fitting chair or Fairy Godmother or Prince Charming or stepfamily dolls to act out her story. In fact I also think there should at least be 3-dimensional versions of the animal figures, if not playable ones, instead of the stickers. It's really lame to say her story can be acted out in the castle and then give about half the story. And if they must only be stickers, the ones of Jaq, Lucifer, the stepsisters and Fairy Godmother need to be new ones based on the original film, not stolen from the Cinderella sequels, Kingdom Hearts, and I'm guessing some book for the stepsisters sticker.

Along with many other books being celebratorily released for Cinderella's immensely exciting Diamond Edition Blu-ray release are a calendar and a book with an original story for Cinderella, but using her makeover version along with backgrounds directly from or based on the film.
2013 Wall Calendar:
The calendar actually has really lovely images, though some of it with the writing feels a little vain and superficial, but who cares. They even wrote this description: "Fairy Godmothers take note: girls of all ages are going to love this calendar! Timeless, classic imagery is updated and transformed with artistic lighting and sweet sparkle effects that add an element of Disney magic." Artistic? Well, it is pretty. If only they did a calendar just as pretty but using the version of her from the film, or using brand new drawings based on the film, and different scenes.
The book is called "Cinderella's Shining Moment" where she celebrates her birthday with the Prince, and he hides a gift for her with clues to find it. It also has a 2 and a half feet big pull-out poster figure of Cinderella that you can decorate.
The cover shows what I think is a very beautiful lush background that looks just like the beautiful film, showing a forested path to the castle, though they took the castle right from a film image and they didn't do the turrets/battlements exactly like they actually are on the castle, but it's pretty anyway.

Your eye for detail amazes me, I would never be able to spot subtle differences like that.Disney Duster wrote:though they took the castle right from a film image and they didn't do the turrets/battlements exactly like they actually are on the castle, but it's pretty anyway.

Oh wow Disney Animation your comment made me the happiest I've ever been in a long time. For a while on this forum I've felt pretty dumb and useless and like all the things I thought were amazing about me were just nothing. I thank you very much, it gives me confidence now. I wonder if my attention to detail also extends to things like Disney essence and I just have trouble pointing it out, or the Disney restorations, but if not those things, well anyway I thank you for acknowledging my eye for detail, so much.DisneyAnimation88 wrote:Your eye for detail amazes me, I would never be able to spot subtle differences like that.
