In 2006, I went on a bit of a Disney soundtrack splurge since Walt Disney Records allowed EMI to re-release a lot of Disney soundtracks in the UK for quite low prices. Nearly all of them are therefore from that year.
Pinocchio
Fantasia
Dumbo
Cinderella
Alice in Wonderland
Beauty and the Beast (iTunes digital download)
Aladdin
The Muppet Christmas Carol
The Lion King: Original Broadway Cast Recording
Tarzan
In addition to these and a few downloaded songs from here and there, I also have two Disney compilation CDs from when I was a child hiding somewhere amongst all my clutter. They were also put under the label of "The Disney Collection", though they are different to what Lazario posted. They were released by a company called Pickwick, who distributed Disney music and in the UK for many years. I think these are from around 1990/1991, as the most recent film to feature on them is
The Little Mermaid. It also came from before Disney remastered and re-released a lot of the original music soundtracks for various films, and a number of tracks appear to be directly ripped from actual film soundtracks, complete with sound effects and bits of spoken dialogue (songs from
Cinderella and
Dumbo spring to mind in particular). Here are the covers for the first and third volumes (the ones I have), complete with amateur-ish renditions of Disney characters...
I have to admit that I don't really feel the need to get many more Disney soundtracks, though I wouldn't mind picking them up if they were going for quite low prices. The Disney albums that really do interest me, however, are cover albums of Disney songs, in particular Brian Wilson's recent
In the Key of Disney,
Stay Awake from 1988 and the vintage Tutti Camarata
Alice in Wonderland album, which isn't available on iTunes UK.
