I was debating whether to pick this up since I'd heard some less than stellar reports prior to the game's release (clunky camera, less-than-ideal controls) but now the reviews seem to be mostly positive, especially for fans of Disney, so I'll probably buy it some time this week.

Not sure if it was mentioned in this thread, but if you buy Epic Mickey at Kmart, you will get a $20 gaming coupon with it, good for purchasing another game at a later date. If you use your Shop Your Way Rewards card, you can get a $30 gaming coupon if you pick up the collector's edition. The coupons print out after your receipt. I believe this deal lasts through Saturday.

Its a good game, as long as you don't go into it expecting the next Okami you'll certainly enjoy it.

If you haven't picked this up yet, Amazon has the regular edition for $29.99. However, it's for today only, so you better get it if you haven't yet:

But I have a plan...
I'll just buy the game and give to a friend for Christmas. Then for New Years Eve I'll invite myself over and play it on their system. BRILLIANT!
Scrap that idea entirely. :P

1)I got a Wii for Christmas and 2)The giver evidently could afford it.

So in consequence I finally bought Epic Mickey. So far, (I passed It's a Small World Boss Battle) I really enjoy it, even with it's faults, which I consider to be minor in comparison to the beauty of the game.

^ The day I buy the game THIS happens. It figures.

(I still got it for a good price: $39.99)

I FINALLY got around to playing this game and now I can't put it down!

Also, did anyone else notice a sinister version of The Mickey Mouse Club March that was playing during the Mickeyjunk Mountain part?

I noticed the Mouse March, but couldn't tell if it was sinster or not.

I love the side scrool adventures, best part of the game and Bog Easy section too.

The MickeyJunk Mountain climax is a bit challenging and makes you wish you'd had an invincibility code. But so far the game's a blast. Hopefuly we'll see a sequel

Some concept art's been uploaded by one of the artists. Shows some of the creepier stuff that didn't make it in between an extreme Thinner Mickey, some villain Oswald stuff and the paint and thinner system before the brush came into the picture

I haven't played this game in weeks... I got pissed off at a part and decided to take a break

I'll probably pick it up again today
But the thing that makes Woody special, is he'll never give up on you... ever. He'll be there for you, no matter what.

I bought this over the holidays, and I haven't gotten a chance to really get into it, what with exams and all. I think I left off on the Tomorrowland part. But from what little I played, I really enjoyed it!

When I got to that area I listened for it. I heard a short creepy, discordant version of the chorus. Loved it!

A question concerning Epic Mickey

Post by DisneyJedi »

Was the game initially intended to be DARKER than the final product? I mean, look at the concept art!

No one knows for sure except the development team. It is believed that the game was going to be darker and focus more on steampunk than the twisted Disney we got in the final game. Still a lot of the darker elements did make it onto the final game though not as overtly dark as before.

I seem to remember a news story where the makers of the game originally ment for Mickey to full on turn into a rat when he was "bad Mickey." They ended up toning it down to what we have instead.
