Here are this year's Animated Feature Film nominees:

"A Cat in Paris" Alain Gagnol and Jean-Loup Felicioli
"Chico & Rita" Fernando Trueba and Javier Mariscal
"Kung Fu Panda 2" Jennifer Yuh Nelson
"Puss in Boots" Chris Miller
"Rango" Gore Verbinski

Meanwhile, Rio was nominated in Best Original Song (for "Real in Rio") and The Adventures of Tintin is up for Best Original Score. The only Disney branded films to get nominated was The Muppets in Best Original Song (for "Man or Muppet") and La Luna in Best Animated Short.

Touchstone fared better, though, since War Horse and The Help are nominated for Best Picture among other awards and Real Steel is nominated for Best Visual Effects.

Read the entire list of nominations, this year's Oscars are weird, Jonah Hill dor best supporting actor? Bridesmaids for best script? Only two nominated songs? The heck?

Now, regarding the issue of the nominated animated films, no suprises there, there was no way Cars 2 was getting a nomination, and really, as much everyone liked the nostalgia spect of Winnie the Pooh, it was not getting a nomination. I'm a bit surprised that the song "Hello Hello" from Gnomeo and Juliet wasn't nominated though, but again, this awards season has been just plain weird.

La Luna got a nomination of course.

I'm pulling for Rango. Not only is it the only nominated film that I've seen but I found it to be really quite enjoyable.

There was no way that Cars 2 was going to get nominated, but I feel bad for Pooh because I found it to be magical. Oh well, here's hoping that Rango will win.

I'm highly disappointed that Wrinkles and Winnie the Pooh were not nominated for Best Animated Feature and that Alan Menken's "Star-Spangled Man" was not nominated for Best Original Song.

Ugh! AGAIN Disney's own movie doesn't get nominated! Seriously, does the Academy HATE Disney?! :(

Ah, well. I'm pretty much rooting for Kung Fu Panda 2 to take home the gold. That's probably wishful thinking and Puss in Boots and Rango were great, too. However, I felt more pulled into KFP2's story.

Plus, Kung Fu Panda 2 has a hand-drawn animated sequence!

Have you seen A Cat in Paris and Chico & Rita? For all you know, they could be better than Winnie the Pooh.

I remember last year, there was a big fuss over Tangled not getting nominated. I then watched The Illusionist, which was fantastic and in my opinion, a better film than Tangled. Personally, I've been really interested in A Cat in Paris long before the nominations were even announced.

Personally I was ecstatic with the nomination of Kung Fu Panda 2, it was being snubbed out of a lot of major award shows, like the Globes. I am a bit disappointed that Pooh didn't get nominated, but then again I didn't see the two foreign movies. And I haven't seen TinTin or Arthur Christmas so I don't want to make any comments on those.

Now as for what I want to win, definitely I want Panda to win. Personally I found it to have the most compelling story of any animated films I've seen this year. I would be a strong contender even in a stronger year. I liked Rango, but I felt really disconnected with most of the story and the humor was trying a bit too hard. Plus Panda had such gorgeous animation and different art styles, some of the Rango characters looked disturbing even though it was very impressive.

As for the Tangled topic, I wish it was nominated last and I really wanted it to win too. I saw The Illusionist, while I liked it and the animation and style
were both impressive, I couldn't stop, but feel some form of disconnect with the story. I understood what it was doing, but at times it was confusing.

However, there is no use in complaining about something that has past. Now hopefully the Academy gets it right and gives it to Kung Fu Panda, not only the best animated movie of the year, but also one of the best movies of the year.

I feel that the disappointment in Pixar for making Cars 2 is a little much. I mean, Puss and Boots and Kung Fu Panda 2... I don't even know how to finish the sentence. May be they wanted to take advantage of Pixar definitely not deserving the Oscar.

But can I just say how bummed I am that The Adventures of Tin Tin didn't get nominated? it was my favorite animated movie this year.

Produced by Folimage, a French outfit specializing in auteur-driven toons located near Lyon, "A Cat in Paris" marks Jean-Loup Felicioli and Alain Gagnol's feature debut. With a dozen shorts to their name, the pair has been collaborating since the late '80s. "Cat" was five years in the making: two years in storyboards and three in production, per Gagnol, a crime novelist who penned the script while Felicioli created the graphic style. Since "Cat" is aimed at family audiences, the team used elements of traditional films noir but added touches of humor for broad appeal. "We used 50,000 drawings, all the color was hand-painted, and we highlighted each character's face with a color pencil to create a soft shade effect," Gagnol says. Next up, the duo will reteam with Folimage on "Phantom Boy," a 2D New York-set fantasy thriller.

"Chico & Rita" had its genesis some 10 years ago when Oscar-winning director Fernando Trueba ("Belle Epoque") asked artist Javier Mariscal to create a poster for his Latin jazz documentary "Calle 54." Joined by Mariscal's younger brother Tono Errando, the three co-directors and screenwriter Ignacio Martinez de Pison fashioned an epic story of love, passion and heartbreak that begins in 1940s Havana and spans several decades. According to British producer Michael Rose, although some of the animation was farmed out to various studios around the world, "All design, development and original artwork was done at Estudio Mariscal in Barcelona." With a budget of just $13 million, the classic hand-drawn 2D animation film took some seven years from start to finish to complete -- "a real labor of love," says Rose.
