I bought The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad (as well as Lilo and Stitch) on Thursday at Best Buy and the disc doesn't have any artwork on it. It's not grey but it's just clear like a blank cd with the title and Gold Classic banner at the top in black. Is it supposed to look like that?

Maybe they started printing the discs that way recently... my copy has the cover artwork on it, but I picked it up about 5 years ago.

Anyway, I gave in and picked up Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 3 in 3D tonight. I know it's kinda stupid since I don't have a 3D capable player or TV yet, but it was driving me crazy not having them. I think i'm sick. lol

That makes my grand total - 175 Disney titles owned

Have you really invested in all the 3-D Home electronics, TV, Blu-ray, and all or are you just a completist that wants everything there is.

While I am confident that I am a true Disney completist, I will not purchase anything that I cannot play, i.e. 3-D versions of movies!!!

Not being critical, but I was just wondering if you are one of those who have bought into this ill-fated 3-D mania.
The only way to watch movies - Original Aspect Ratio!!!!

It's kind of both... I am a pretty severe completist, but I don't own any 3D playing devices. I do intend on eventually purchasing a PS3 and a 3D TV though. In my opinion, it's not so much an "ill-fated" mania anymore. I think it's begun to establish itself as something that will never really go away. After all, since 3D was first established years ago it's never really gone extinct. With all the recent technological bursts in the medium, I cant imagine 3D becoming completely irrelevant in a decade or so which would be the next time I'd probably look into a new TV assuming I get a 3D one this year.

The 3D TV's are just regular TV's that feature the 3D capability. I don't see the harm in purchasing one, when all it does is feature more things. On top of that, all of them I've seen also feature internet access. Which, if Disney only intends on releasing extra content through Disney-view or whatever their internet based thing is, is something I'm interested in as well. So, I guess I am "one of those" who have/will buy into 3D.

Not to be critical, but I was just wondering why you even asked me if I was "one of those who have bought into this ill-fated 3-D mania" just to seemingly judge me when I say I have. Does it really matter to you what I choose to spend my money on? It seems to me like you're digging for another anti-3D and pro-3D debate.

I'll be picking these up at some point as I don't have them on Blu-Ray yet (I'm a DAC completist 8) ) . Even though I have a 3D player, I don't have a 3D TV yet. the way I see it, the 3D disc is just a good bonus to have for the future when I upgrade the TV.

Well what do I have, shorted by eras during Walt's life time:

Laugh-O-Gram (1921-1923):
Beauty and the Beast: Dinamond Edition (Blu-ray) four of seven laugh-G-Gram shorts are included in the bonus features.
The Other three shorts exists in Disney's vault and have not yet appeared on DVD/Blu-ray. But there was also live-action/animated series produced alternatively which no longer exist.

Walt Disney Studio (Silent era 1921-1927).
WDT: Disney Rarities: Celebrated Shorts: 1920s–1960s
WDT: The Adventures of Oswald the Lucky Rabbit
Note: Surving Alice shorts that are yet to appear on offical Disney DVDs/Blu-ray can be found in hands of various private collectors and on second rate flea markets. Oswald's Poor Papa exists in Disney's vault but has not appeared on any DVD/Blu-Ray.

Walt Disney Studio (Golden age of cartoons/Silver age 1928-1967)
Shorts (Collections)

WDT: Mickey Mouse in Black and White (R2)
WDT: Mickey Mouse in Black and White, 2
WDT: Mickey Mouse in Living Color (R2)
WDT: Mickey Mouse in Living Color, V2 (Disc 1 shorts from 1939-1953)
WDT: Silly Symphonies (R2)

Cartoon Classic Favorites : Extreme Adventure Fun (R2)
Cartoon Classics Favorites: Starring Chip 'n' Dale
Have Laugh vol 2
Note 1: No short collection is bought with out a purpose, if better copy exist of an cartoon that don't appear on WDT I buy it, if there is no improvement on individual shorts quality then I don't buy it, for example No Sail (1945) is in horrble condition on WDT: Donald vol 2, but better copy can be found on Extreme Adventure Fun.
Note 2: Note I don't have any of these 40's/50's commercial produced animated shorts I know some can be found with private collectors, I also don't have The Lone Chipmunks (1954), it can be found on Davy Crockett, two movie collection, .I'm planning to buy it at some point in future, unless the short appear on more animated oriented DVD/Blu-ray. I don't have any of those post 1963-1967 shorts some of them can be found on educational DVDs only so not sure how I can obtain those, others are not even of DVD at all

The Emperor's New Grove - New Grove edition (DVD, R2)
ATLANTIS: THE LOST EMPIRE (DVD, R2; Incorrect aspect ratio in Pan and Scan 1.33.1 while the original feature was 2.35.1 CinemaScope).
Return to Neverland - Pixie Powered edition (DVD, R2)
Lilo and Stitch - Big Wave Edition (DVD, R2)
Treasury Planet (DVD, R2)
The Jungle Book 2 - Special Edition (DVD, R2)
Piglet's Big Movie - Special Edition (DVD, R2)

Home On Range (DVD, R2)
Pooh's Heffalump Movie (DVD, R2)
Chicken Little (DVD, R2, I know blu-ray exist)
Meet The Robinsons (DVD, R2, I know blu-ray exist)
Disney Have Laugh vol 1 (DVD, How to Hook Up your Home theater Goofy)
Bolt (DVD, R2, I know Blu-ray exist)
Princess and the Frog (Blu-Ray, B)
Tangled (Blu-Ray, B)

In addition I do have Mr. Magoo (1998) Live-action movie starring Leslie Nielsen, since it contains opening and closing animation, I'm not sure if Disney Studio did the animation on that one or if it was outscored.

Note 1: I don't have many live-action Disney since I'm not admire of live-action Disney films, with expection of those that have animated bits in them and Pirates of Caribbean (3 on DVD and 1 on Blu-Ray).
Note 2: I'm might plan to get rest of the animated features I don't have. Including Fox and the Hound (import perhaps), I probably will also get blu-ray copies of those that I only have on DVDs, and are already on Blu-ray. As well as Disney Live-actions films that have animated bits/titles (2D-Hand-drawn animation) the last bit is not priority. I will not give into the 3-D blu-ray just yet. Want see of the 3-D phenomena goes, next few years first.

Well You asked for it, What I have of those abominations called Disney Sequels:
The Return of Jafar (VHS, R2, might want plan DVD upgrade)
Aladdin King of Thieves (VHS, R2, might want plan DVD upgrade if DVD with correct aspect ratio can be found)
Belle's Magical World (DVD, R2)
Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World (DVD, R2)
The Lion King II: Simba's Pride (DVD, R2)
An Extremely Goofy Movie (DVD, R2)
The Little Mermaid II: Return to the Sea (DVD, R2)
Cinderella II: Dreams Come True (DVD, R2)
101 Dalmatians II: Patch's London Adventure (DVD, R2)
Lilo & Stitch 2: Stitch Has a Glitch (DVD, R2)
Kronk's New Groove (DVD, R2)
Bambi II (DVD, R2, I know it was in theater outside USA but I prefer to handle films like they were in there own country of origin so I don't consider this as theatrical feature film)
Cinderella III: A Twist in Time (DVD, R2)
The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginning (DVD, R2)

Note 1: Quite few modern shorts do appear as bonus on some of the DVDs/Blu-Ray above. So listing DVD/Blu-Ray twice wont do, I think we all know what moderns shorts that are not educational and not theme park related, that have not yet appeared on DVD/Blu-Ray. Same can be said about Stright-to-Video shorts they have both appeared with theatrical Features on DVD and Stright-to-Video features on DVD, so list them wont do justice ether.
Note 2: If one can find those educational shorts on DVD be warned thay are very expensive since they are not supposed to be for individuals but institutions, you will end up pay 30$ at minimum per short.
Note 3: I'm not too keen on buying more of those unless I have nothing left to collect when it comes to animation in general (not only Disney) but I might want pick up those DVDs that are related to Mickey Donald and Goofy and thats it.

Disney TV animation
Unfortunetly I don't have any. I will probably only get those shows that are Duck, Mouse, Gargoyles, feature film related, related at one point though if they are continued to be released. I don't like the idea of half finnished shows so all or nothing for me here.

I just picked up Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas ~ Special Edition on Blu-ray last night. After seeing this cover art, I think I wish they would've just re-used the cover art from the previous DVD release. It was a lot more elegant.

Waiting....the Table will be filled!

haha, so after a few days it finally hit me what you are doing there! LOL!

Are you marking them by if you own them, or if they have been released? I'm asking because Dinosaur has been released on Blu, it was one of the first films ever released on Blu. I've been fighting with myself about picking it up or not because I can't stand that dang blu swoosh they were printing on all the cover arts then.

I'm holding off on Dinosaur myself. I figure if they released Chicken Little, Meet The Robinsons, and Bolt to 3D, they'll do the same for Dinosaur - then I can have it with a nice slipcover to match the rest of my DAC Blu library.

That's a good thought, but was Dinosaur released in 3D? I think they released those other 3 because they were released in 3D while they were in theaters. Then again, I guess that all depends on whether or not Disney plans on releasing more of the DAC's in 3D.
