First Look: Image from 'Toy Story: Small Fry' revealed

Post by Loomis »

Disney have released the first image from the short film Toy Story: Small Fry.

In a shameless plug, I'll direct you to my site for the hi-res version. We actually saw this earlier in the week at a sneak preview, and it's fab.

So how's it all going here in the ol' UD?

You guys are going to love this short. Although I still hope for more "original" shorts in the future.

Looking forward to it. And this time I should enjoy the movie its attached to equally.

It does remind me a bit too much of the toy story treat though. but I'm sure it'll be different enough to make it worth it.

Me too! The sound effects are just like Transformers, the old cartoon! Makes me wonder if Pixar did that on purpose...

It totally made me think of these:

Thanks Loomis!

DisneyPixar's channel on YouTube has the the official short preview up in HD:

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Ymwe4DB_HsU" frameborder="0"></iframe>

Their video description contains spoilers. Here's the short synopsis in whiteout:
*Buzz Lightyear is left behind at a fast food restaurant when a kids' meal toy version of Buzz takes his place. While Bonnie's toys are stuck with the annoying three-inch-tall Buzz impersonator, the real Buzz is trapped in the restaurant at a support group for discarded toys. As Woody and the gang devise a way to rescue their friend, Buzz tries to escape the toy psychotherapy meeting.*

And for the link! Yes, I saw it at a very early preview of The Muppets, and it is safe to say everyone will enjoy it. I do hope they go back to more 'original' shorts after this, but this is definitely lots of fun.

^The fact that they have Laluna attached to brave already shows they are. Seems having shorts based on preexisting franchises attached to a Pixar movie was a one time thing with Cars 2, which being a sequel itself made it more excusable if you ask me. We should still get all original shorts on any non Pixar sequel, and possibly even Monsters University. There are more Toy Story Toons planned, but I think it'll just be other Disney movies and/or Disney channel and dvd/blu ray from here on out. They just wanted to get the ball rolling.

Yes, La Luna look beautiful and I can't wait to see it in full. As does Brave for that matter. It seems like such a long wait now until the next Disney/Pixar animated film, with Brave mid year and Wreck-It Ralph end of 2012! Am I missing something?

Of course, you lucky people in the US will see iTangled Ever After attached to BatB3D in January. We've already had that released in 3D in Australia last year, and it doesn't look like it will get a second showing according to the release schedules I get from the studio.
