Tron 3
Source: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ml4FHeFRXdQQ: If they were to call you for a third one would you come back?
Bruce Boxleitner: Oh, it's already a done deal. It's already in the works, my friend. It's already in the works.
Q: About how long do you think until...?
Bruce Boxleitner: 2013, I hope. Well, because it takes a long time to make these things. We won't get to it until next year, anyways.

I haven't seen either the original Tron from 1982 or the recentTRON: Legacy, but I'm considering watching them due to my like for Jeff Bridges and Garrett Hedlund. Obviously, the news of a threequel isn't very exciting to me, and unless the first sequel left the story open, then this will reveal Tron to be yet another cash cow of a franchise.

Great news! TRON: Legacy was a visual masterpiece, and I loved Garrett Hedlund, Olivia Wilde, Jeff Bridges and all the other actors. And Daft Punk's soundtrack rocked.
Favorite Disney-movies: Snow White, Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Sleeping Beauty, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Pocahontas, The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Hercules, Mulan, Tarzan, Tangled, Frozen, Pirates, Enchanted, Prince of Persia, Tron, Oz The Great and Powerful

It was going to happen. Disney has made it clear they want this to be a franchise all along!

Aww this is such great news! I really like the Tron series a lot.. I think I'll watch them both today to celebrate. The only thing I think will be a bit strange is the continuity of the three films. The second was released nearly three decades after the first and there are jarring visual differences between the two. Both are beautiful and innovative for different reasons but I wonder what it will be like watching the three as a trilogy. I wish there were more time between the second and third movie.. then it could really be a chronicle of advancements in technology.

[Joseph] Kosinski, who is slated for it, he's shooting another movie now, and then they'll get around to doing that. I think somewhere around 2014, maybe. I'm talking way out of school here, but they can't shoot me because I'm Tron."

Source: http://io9.com/5894361/could-jeff-bridg ... -after-allQ: After the experience of working on Tron: Legacy, it seems like the movie did well, and made money. But maybe it didn't quite do well enough to get its own sequel. But it did well enough to get its own cartoon series, is that frustrating at all?
Adam Horowitz: We are working on a sequel. Eddie and I aren't writing the sequel — because of the show [Once Upon a Time] we've moved to be co-producers on it. But there's a script being written right now.
Edward Kitsis: Dave DiGilio is writing it. Joe [Kosinski] is right now shooting Oblivion but we've had a lot of meetings and conversations and we've sen the first draft of the Tron sequel, sometimes movies don't happen as quickly as you want... Our hope is to get something going sooner [rather than later].
Q: In your opinion are Tron and Jeff Bridges dead, are they in Tron [3]?
Adam Horowitz: I would say the definition of life and death in the digital realm...
Edward Kitsis: Will be explored in the sequel!
Q: How big of a part does Quorra have in the sequel?
Adam Horrowitz: Mmm. *Darts away to the next roundtable*

So whatever happened to Tron 3?
Cuz I was just watching the Flynn Lives short, and it's pretty obvious there has to be a sequel.

Source: http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-v ... -at-398592A new Tron is back in development at Disney. The sequel to the 2010 reboot Tron: Legacy — called Tron 3 in some quarters — is moving a step forward with Disney in negotiations to hire Jesse Wigutow to pen the latest draft of the script. Joseph Kosinski, who directed Legacy, is attached to helm this installment, which is being developed with a renewed purpose under Alan Horn, who took the reigns of Disney Studios in June. Plot details are being kept under wraps.
David DiGilio wrote an earlier draft of the script. Justin Springer, a co-producer on Legacy, is producing Tron 3. Wigutow is already working with Disney on the adaptation of Peter and the Starcatchers and worked on Parallel, another Disney project being produced by Springer.
