I just don't understand WMG's logic. They can't assume that video makers illegally download the songs. And they are not seeking profit from it. Its like when you sing karaoke. You don't pay to sing it at any time during the day, so why is it a problem when someone makes a video with it?

Simply put....I don't have permission to use the song. And they aren't getting a direct profit from it. They automatically assume anyone who hears the song will go and download it for free, illegally.

And yet, I hear the exact opposite...a lot of times people will comment "I never heard that song/saw that movie before, I am going to check it out/buy it, thanks!"

UMG, Sony and a few others DO allow for many of their copyrighted materials to remain on YT with links to download them on ITunes and Amazon. They often toss an advertisement over the bottom of the video and to the right of the video. They also track my insights, see who's watching, how many times its viewed, etc. All that is fine. They can put a commercial before the video for all care, so long as it gets to stay up.

Though the fact I changed the audio on the YT video kinda was a happy accident...the song I chose would be good for Princess and the Frog when that is on DVD :D

This is the first YouTube video I've ever put up, though it's just a montage of my art that I put together with a website I found out about. I eventually want to do real videos like comedy sketches, movie and toy reviews, and stuff like that. Gotta wait till I move and get a video camera though, or at least a webcam.

I've also been making "motion comics" (sort of) of my Moonlight Motel comic strip and posting them on YouTube. Here is my YouTube Channel where I'm uploading them:

Those were great- I didn't get the Rankin/Bass one, but the rest were really funny!

Thanks. The Rankin/Bass one is a Frosty the Snowman joke. It's actually one of the funniest/most-liked strips I've done, IF you are an R/B fan so you can get it at all. You're actually not supposed to do pop culture jokes that the general audience might not "get" in a comic strip, but I have the problem that I love those kinds of jokes, ha. If I remember correctly, the most popular Moonlight Motel strip I've done so far has been the Halloween one that I posted on YouTube, and it's also probably my personal fave.

I dubbed The Lion King's stampede scene with the main theme from Child's Play 3. Go figure how a film about a killer doll got music that works for a stampede video. 8)

For my latest art piece ( http://slave2moonlight.deviantart.com/art/Girl-of-My-Dreams-on-Monorail-156463352 ) I did a progression video for YouTube:

One of my good friends passed away recently, it was sudden and she was too young. I made a video in her memory.

<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/gJ3FLYa5aPU&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/gJ3FLYa5aPU&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

I recently did a post-Oscar special for my comic strip, Moonlight Motel. It gets a little weird, ha.

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/NInxWuqNTwI&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/NInxWuqNTwI&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Some of the drawing could have been better, but I had to work on it really quickly. I even meant to put musical notes during one part and totally forgot.

My go at "XYZ in 5 seconds", with Sleeping Beauty as the victim:
