So here's hoping we hear from the mouse again very soon!Feld Entertainment's newest Disney On Ice show "Celebrations" introduces audiences to Princess Tiana and Prince Naveen. In the show's program Feld Entertainment has posted "in memory of Wayne Allwine" following the show's voice talents. Among the voice artists listed is Bret Iwan who according to the Chapman Recording and Broadcasting website competed nationally to become the new voice of Mickey Mouse. His first sessions with Chapman Recording was a voice used in a learning toy and then a series of prompts for the Disney cruise Line.

New voice of Mickey Mouse
Looks like we may hear from the new Mickey Mouse very soon. It's supposedly from someone named Bret Iwan. According to LaughingPlace.com:

It's good to see news bout this "mystery" Least it's nobody too famous, I recently watched Mickey Mouse in Living Color Vol 1/2 and i have to say that Jimmy McDonald sounds quite like Walt's Mickey while Wayne's Mickey goes in between Walt and Jimmy. Can't wait to hear the "new" Mickey *crosses fingers* Hope he sounds like all 3 men.

Disney is usually pretty good with casting the replacement voices for their characters - the difference will probably only be slight, and then only directly identifiable by the serious fans.UmbrellaFish wrote:I'm willing to bet that this new person's Mickey Mouse is going to be very similar to Wayne Allwine's version, for commercial reasons alone. It shall be very interesting in the coming months to hear what's coming out of Mickey.

Good to hear. I was actually thinking about this yesterday as I was reading about how they took their time over at Sesame Street on replacing Ernie when Jim Henson died.
Wayne always knew his role as Mickey was "temporary," that another artist would one day get the job. It's just too bad that we lost him so soon.

Want to hear the new voice?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FuFzG9NWUVU#movie_player
Fast forward to about 5:31.
If I didn't know better, I'd say that I was still hearing voice #3. (RIP Wayne Allwine)
I don't want to jump the gun, but from the few seconds of dialouge in the clip, I can safely say that my worst fears are over, as Bret Iwan did an amazing job.
Mr. Iwan, you have done Mickey proud!

Wow!!! I have to definitely agree with you! I would have never noticed it was someone else if we didn't already know it. I certainly feel a lot better about a new actor for Mickey, though I still will miss Wayne Allwine, may he rest in peace. Bret Iwan, good job! I wonder if Disney people were at that presentation he did when we was (still is?) a Hallmark illustrator, since that article said he imitated Mickey's voice.Mushu wrote:If I didn't know better, I'd say that I was still hearing voice #3. Thanks for posting the video, Mushu! =)
Also, off topic, but it was AWESOME to see all the classic Disney Princesses skating and frolicking to "That's How You Know" from Enchanted!
