It's called Snow and the Seven and has been in development as early as October 2004. I'm both partly-excited and partly-apathetic for its release.

Nah, among other things I still don't know who voiced the two-line Queen in Sleeping Beauty.Princessmarlo wrote:Wow you seem to always know [sic] everything!!!!

I've always had a feeling it was Verna Felton. I have this image in my head of them just saying "Verna, that was great, and while your at it, can you just say these two lines in a slightly different voice for the queen?"Escapay wrote:Nah, among other things I still don't know who voiced the two-line Queen in Sleeping Beauty.
But, as far as this film actually goes, it could be very good, or very bad. It all depends on the way they approach it.

This article made me cry...........from laughing so hard this movie sounds so, so....stupid Personally, I think that maybe if they dropped the whole Snow White aspect, and just made it an original movie, it would be more appealing. But as Snow White it just makes me want to hurt the person who thought of this

the stories are universal...
So another company wants to make yet another version of SNOW WHITE?. I suspect Disney could contribute some financing and work out some profit sharing arrangement, assuming they find the production of value.
But why on earth would they want that sort of thing to be under the Disney Name? Is this to be another "R & H Cinderella" sort of thing ??
Other companies have tried versions of SNOW WHITE to varying success. The biggest bomb was Filmation's HAPPILY EVER AFTER, which cost $4 mil, sank on release, went into storage for 10 years to be bought for $1 mil by New Line, sank AGAIN on release, and now resides on a 20TH Century Fox DVD selling for $3 - 5 at your favorite retailer.
This whole thing sounds almost as weird as the recently released Tartan Asia Extreme version of "CINDERELLA", which tells the gory story about a young girl/martial artist whose friends undergo plastic surgery and then croak.
The cover art on the USA release is dramatically cleaned up from what you'll see at dreadcentral.com (which gave this version a surprisingly good review).

2D isn't Ded yet!
Interesting story!
From Blue sky disney blog:
"Walt Disney Pictures has signed Francis Lawrence(Constantine, I Am Legend) to direct "Snow and the Seven", the Kung Fu interpretation of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs".
The Hollywood Reporter describes the story as a fantasy adventure that follows a British girl raised in 19th century Hong Kong. She realizes it's her destiny is to conquer the forces of evil and has seven Shaolin monks prepare her to fight. Scott Rudin and Andrew Gunn will produce".

"Snow and the seven"
If you look deep into the upcoming movies section on Moviefone.com you will see that the Disney Corperation is working on a twist on the Snow White and the zeven dwarves. It's about a girl raised by seven munks who it being trained to fight the forces of evil.
Not only is Disney once agian going back to rehashing old ideas, but WALT DISNEY himself personally spoke out agianst a sequeal to his very first feature length animated film.
Some might say this isn't really a sequeal it's a remake. A remake is even worse. Why is the disney corperation going to sully this historic film?
