List of Ludwig von Drake shows....

Post by disneyfella »

I've looked everywhere online and cannot find a single source that lists all of the anthology episodes that Ludwig von Drake appeared in. I've found out that he was in a total of 18 episodes of the anthology series, but no place lists them. After some digging I've come up with some more of the lsit, but was hoping that you all might be able to help out. Can you help me finish this list of 18 anthology programs starring Ludwig von Drake?

1. An Adventure in Color
2. The Hunting Instinct
3. Inside Donald Duck
4. Kids is Kids
5. Man is His Own Worst Enemy
6. The Truth About Mother Goose
7. In Shape with von Drake
8. Music for Everybody
9. Symposium on Popular Songs
10.
11.
12.
13.
14.
15.
16.
17.
18.

Ludwig Von Drake MOVIE

Post by herman_the_german »

I think it's high time to bring Ludwig into the 21st Century with his own movie (featuring Mel Brooks as Ludwig.)

Here is the Ludwig list that I know of...

It's critical that those get released again!

Ludwig Von Drake episodes of Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color (1961-67), with original titles (not in order):

An Adventure in Color
The Hunting Instinct
Inside Donald Duck
Kids is Kids
Man is His Own Worst Enemy
The Truth About Mother Goose
In Shape with Von Drake
Music for Everybody
A Symposium on Popular Songs
Carnival Time
Spy in the Sky
Von Drake in Spain
Three Tall Tales
Inside Outer Space
A Square Peg in a Round Hole
Fly With Von Drake
Holiday for Henpecked Husbands
A Salute to Alaska
Mediterranean Cruise
A Rag a Bone a Box of Junk

Not Ludwig, but animated titles from the same era:

Ranger Woodlore episodes:

A Ranger's Guide to Nature
Ranger of Brownstone
Nature's Better Built Homes
Nature's Charter Tours

Moby Duck:
Pacifically Peeking

Other 60's era animation related episodes:

It's Tough to Be A Bird
Dad, Can I Borrow the Car

Many more animation episodes from earlier anothology seasons were rebroadcast in color on WDWWoC ... I'll list 'em later

In addition to the Ludwig VonDrake and Ranger Woodlore shows and other new animation episodes listed above, the following animation-oriented episodes from prior anothology seasons were rebroadcast in Color on "Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color":

At Home With Donald Duck
The Great Cat Family
The Adventures of Chip 'n Dale
Donald's Award
Cavalcade of Songs
Magic and Music
A Salute to Father
The Truth About Mother Goose
From All of Us to All of You
Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Boom
Four Fabulous Characters
Ben and Me and Peter and the Wolf
The Wind in the Willows
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
A Present for Donald
From Aesop to Hans Christian Andersen
The Coyote's Lament
Man on Wheels
This is Your Life Donald Duck
Duck for Hire
On Vacation
The Goofy Sports Story
Disney's Greatest Villains
Adventure in Fantasy

I think a box set of all of the above animation episodes of "Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color" would be a baby boomer delight on DVD. These are timeless shows, feature the best old cartoons in more modern compilations and the new animated material is well worth passing along to new generations.

Who else here would buy a "Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color" set - - of all the animation episodes - - on DVD?

Chime in and maybe we can influence Walt Disney Home Video to take a look. I'm not sure those who pick know which episodes to look at from the titles alone - - and here they are listed in this thread.

Look at all the 60's shows on DVD - - There is a broad market for this once top-rated series. Some episodes need to have Walt's footage or voice restored, as they were cut/replaced by the announcer after his death for further broadcasts.

All together:

"Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color" (animation episodes)

Ludwig VonDrake:

An Adventure in Color
The Hunting Instinct
Inside Donald Duck
Kids is Kids
Man is His Own Worst Enemy
The Truth About Mother Goose
In Shape with Von Drake
Music for Everybody
A Symposium on Popular Songs
Carnival Time
Spy in the Sky
Von Drake in Spain
Three Tall Tales
Inside Outer Space
A Square Peg in a Round Hole
Fly With Von Drake
Holiday for Henpecked Husbands
A Salute to Alaska
Mediterranean Cruise
A Rag a Bone a Box of Junk

Ranger Woodlore:

A Ranger's Guide to Nature
Ranger of Brownstone
Nature's Better Built Homes
Nature's Charter Tours

Other animated episodes in color:

Pacifically Peeking
It's Tough to Be A Bird
Dad, Can I Borrow the Car
At Home With Donald Duck
The Great Cat Family
The Adventures of Chip 'n Dale (needs Walt voiceover restored)
Donald's Award
Cavalcade of Songs
Magic and Music
A Salute to Father
The Truth About Mother Goose
From All of Us to All of You
Toot, Whistle, Plunk and Boom
Four Fabulous Characters
Ben and Me and Peter and the Wolf
The Wind in the Willows
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow
A Present for Donald
From Aesop to Hans Christian Andersen
The Coyote's Lament
Man on Wheels
This is Your Life Donald Duck
Duck for Hire
On Vacation (needs Walt voiceover restored)
The Goofy Sports Story
Disney's Greatest Villains
Adventure in Fantasy

And of course, there are many more of these animated shows from the ABC "Disneyland/Walt Disney Presents" years, some with color masters, some with black & white, that weren't rebroadcast on NBC. I'd love to get ALL of the 80 plus animated hours from the anthology on DVD.

Me!

I am interested in EVERYTHING from the anthology series... animation episodes; live-action episodes (like Sammy the Way Out Seal); wildlife/nature episodes; and of course more of the classic theme park episodes (including a re-release of DL Tenth Aniversary with the missing Tiki Room footage restored).

What I would love most of all is complete season sets. It's my favorite TV series of all time, and to see it continually neglected on DVD (especially when so many series I have absolutely no interest in get released) is disappointing.
"Feed the birds, tuppence a bag"- Mary Poppins
"How high does the sycamore grow? If you cut it down, then you'll never know"- Pocahontas
"I do not make films primarily for children. I make them for the child in all of us, whether he be six or sixty. Call the child innocence." - Walt Disney

Me, me!

Okay, I can't tell by the titles; In the list of all the Ludwigs are you including the segment where he and his little bug buddy (can't remember the little guy's name) narrate "Mickey and the Beanstalk" rather than as originally done by Edgar Bergen?

Ludwig's telling (to Herman the beetle) of "Mickey and the Beanstalk" is paired with "The Truth About Mother Goose" on the episode with that title.

That's my favorite version of the narration. Paul Frees as Ludwig is much funnier than Edgar Bergen (there is also an amusing Sterling Holloway narrated version from an earlier anthology episode "The Adventures of Mickey Mouse" - later used in "Mickey's Greatest Adventures")

Treasures?

Post by KlarkKent007 »

I have been searching for Ludwig Von Drake for many years now, and have been hoping that we will see a Ludwig Set in the Walt Disney Treasures series. But alas, no such luck.

I would love to have them release the TV programs (Disneyland, Walt Disney Presents, Wonderful World of Disney, Wonderful World of Color, etc). It is the longest running television series in history, and would be wonderful to see for those of us who weren't around when they first came out.

Ludwig on Wikipedia

Post by JonnyVonDrake »

I have noticed that the list of episodes featuring Ludwig on this forum is far more complete then almost anywhere else I can find on the internet. Wikipedia, for instance, does not have a complete list of Ludwig's shows. Does anyone here mind if I use portions of the above to update the Wikipedia page a bit?
