Region Free US Disney Blu-Ray discs

Post by 2099net »

If you are not in a region "A" country, and want to import Blu-Ray discs, here is a list of known region free titles from Disney:

Disney
Bridge to Terabithia
Cars
Chicken Little
Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl
Pirates of the Caribnean: Dead Man's Chest
Pixar Short Films Collection
Remember The Titans

Beuna Vista/Touchstone/Hollywood Pictures
Aviator, The (Note: distributed by Warner Bros. in the US)
Apocalypto
Chicago
Finding Neverland
G.I. Jane
The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy
Ladder 49
Pearl Harbor
Reign Of Fire

Information taken from http://bluray.liesinc.net/

Note: As a general rule "day and date" new releases are likely to be region locked, but releases of older catalogue films and titles are likely to be encoded for all regions. It is possible that there will be exceptions to this rule though, so it will pay to check before importing.

A few updates have been made. Just a quick note here Pirates of the Caribbean: World's End and The Santa Clause 3 region "A" are both confirmed as Region Locked.

However, apart from a few language and subtitle differences, both discs should have the same content on their region "B" releases.

Is underdog actually out noe? I've not heard anything about it either. But being as it is a Day-and-Date release, I think it would be best to assume it is region locked until definitive information is known.

No. And with BD+ being available, which allows complex virtual machines to interrogate both the disc and the player in great detail, its unlikley (although not impossible) that easily available region free Blu-ray players will ever be available on the scale that region free DVD players are available outside the USA today.

Yep. To Region A.

Though it was only like $15 USD so i didn't really care.

Watching the DVD on your Blu-Ray player is just as good looking.

Doesn't make the movie any more relevant to the ride though, i'm afraid.
