I'm merging your thread, BDF with the existing thread of the same topic.

memnv is correct in his response to you, BDF. Now as for me I most certainly am a moderator, though I do not like having to lock threads over petty arguing. Also I am not a he, I'm female.

Well, I'm sorry, but I can't tell on the forums who's male and who's female, so you have to give me credit.

Anyway, how do I get picked for the job?

Luke will choose someone if he believes that the forum needs another moderator. Someone that has been here longer, like 3 or 4 years, will have a better chance at actually getting the job.

Luke has stated on numerous occasions that currently a mod isn't needed. Besides, I never got the wanting of being the police of an internet chatting place. It's much more fun to just hang around without the worries of locking up threads and breaking up fights.

As a moderator, I would reopen that Ultimate DVD thread.

Which is probably why you'll never be a moderator. Mods are supposed to stop chaos, not cause it.

It's simple.
Send me at least five Disney Blu-Ray discs, and I'll throw you name in the hat for future consideration. Granted, that guarantees you nothing, but at least you'll be in the hat!

**Disclaimer--Don't anyone send me any Blu-Rays...unless you really want to. But it will still get you nothing :D

Well I think it's a shame we can't have an Ultimate DVD thread. That's a good thread. I would be okay with people copying if they gave credit, and if they forget to forgive credit I would just remind them. If they lied about copying, well, then it would be a problem. That's not what he did is it?

Appearances can be deceiving, while it appears that I am the only one, that is not the case. It is mostly timing that makes it look like I am alone in moderating. The first mod to see something that needs modding is usually the one to step in. As I keep an erratic schedule, it is not unusual for that mod to be me. There is a lot of lurking involved with moderating too, so while you may not see us participating in conversations, that doesn't mean we are not around. I have been lurking around the forums for about two months now, there hasn't been much of a need for moderating lately (which is a trend that I hope continues).
