What CDs Have You Purchased This Year?

Post by DisneyFreak5282 »

I'm taking PixarFan2006's idea of "List all the dvds you bought this year", by making a CD version of this thread. So far the CDs I've purchased this year are (in no particular order):

Purchased in-store
1. Various - Now That's What I Call Music! 21
2. Various - Now That's What I Call Music! 22
3. Various - Now That's What I Call Music! 5 (I was replacing my old broken copy)
4. Various - Now That's What I Call Christmas!
5. Various - Now That's What I Call Christmas 3!
6. Various/Soundtrack - Scary Movie: Music That Inspired The Soundtrack?

7. P!nk - I'm Not Dead
8. Christina Milian - So Amazin'
9. Cheyenne Kimball - The Day Has Come
10. Janet Jackson - 20 Y.O.
11. Janet Jackson - The Velvet Rope
12. Janet Jackson - Janet Jackson
13. Janet Jackson - Janet Jackson's Rythym Nation 1814
14. Janet Jackson - Control
15. Christina Aguilera - Back to Basics
16. Kelis - Kelis Was Here
17. JoJo - The High Road
18. Fergie - The Dutchess
19. Lenny Kravitz - Lenny

iTunes Purchases

1. Mary J. Blige - No More Drama (Reissue)
2. Mya - Moodring
3. Mya - Fear of Flying

That makes my total 22 CDs, not nearly as many DVDs I purchased (I purchased 63 this year!), so what about the rest of you?

You didn't get any of the CD's you mentioned in the Artist Discussion: Madonna thread? I thought you were looking to get one of her Greatest Hits CD's?

Still thinking about it, but I'm hesitant because (A) I already have so many of her hit songs from iTunes, singles, compilations, and the two albums I own, (B) I've heard bad things about GHV2, and (C) she's had so many big hits since The Immaculate Collection. If I'm going to get a Greatest Hits release, I'd like it to be a more fully complete and up-to-date one. Surely she'll release a 2-Disc compilation within the next couple of years.

-Aaron, who is upset about the lack of a comprehensive greatest hits album for a lot of artists and is tempted to make a thread to rant about it

I, for one, don't even have GHV2, because I don't really consider that to be a great follow up to The Immaculate Collection. I would say that everyone should at least have The Immaculate Collection. I, too, am wanting a more comprehensive greatest hits package for Madonna. However, I feel it will be quite some time before we get one, because Madonna is still making hit music.

List updated to reflect Christmas and post-Christmas additions. I suspect others may need to do the same.

I don't buy CDs very often because I'm usually addicted to one CD for months, which is good because it doesn't hurt my wallet as much. In the past year, I've purchased:

Red Hot Chili Peppers - Stadium Acrcadium
Justin Timberlake - FutureSex/LoveSounds
Fergie - The Dutchess
Black Eyed Peas - Monkey Business
Drake Bell - It's Only Time (of course)
Gwen Stefani - The Sweet Escape
Hawk Nelson - Smile, It's the End of the World
Chris Daughtry - Daughtry
Step Up (Original Soundtrack)
