I always have such a hard time knowing what I want, so each year my Secret Santa Wishlist is particularly difficult to make. So, I browsed Amazon.com and came up with some options:
Disney The Little Big Book Of Christmas
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... eimprovemz
The Official Price Guide to Disney Collectibles
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... eimprovemz
The Sound of Music (40th Anniversary Edition)
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... eimprovemz
Full House - The Complete Fifth Season
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... eimprovemz
The Philadelphia Story
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... eimprovemz
Pride and Prejudice
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... eimprovemz
A <i>Moulin Rouge!</i> book I have been wanting for ages but have yet to purchase for myself:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... eimprovemz
Animaniacs: Volume 2
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/ ... eimprovemz
Some know that I have been crazily collecting Disney Princess Zizzlingers, so a package of those would not be entirely unwelcome. Of course you must be sure that the package you choose contains ones I don't have already (which, of course, is impossible)!
Oh, and if my Secret Santa happens to live near the WDW area or is planning on visiting soon, I got a lovely Cinderella wallet there in September which is quite gorgeous, but (as it was quite cheap) is already wearing out and I wouldn't mind having another one on hand. Now, I am linking to an Ebay Store listing of it only so you can see what it looks like. If I find out that you have purchased it from this seller, I will be rather angry at you considering the quality is not at all worth what they're charging for it online. I bought the wallet for $12 and no more should be spent on it than that.
http://cgi.ebay.com/Disney-Princess-CIN ... 6615942838
So, I think that's it. If you want to take a chance and just get me any sort of a gift that is not listed here, I like girly, pink, vintage-y things. However, be warned that just because an item is pink does not necessarily guarantee that I'll like it!
Man, I'm feeling high-maintenance.

Well, I'll make two lists:
Disney list
1. DuckTales Volume 2
2. Mary Poppins: 40th Anniversary Edition
3. Any Walt Disney Treasure that isn't MMILC Vol. 2, TCD Vol. 1 or Disney Rarities.
4. Mulan Special Edtion
5. Darkwing Duck Volume 1
6. Alice in Wonderland Masterpiece Edition
7. Tail Spin Volume 1
8. Walt Disney: The Triumph of the American Imagination(Book)
9. Walt Disney: Man Behind the Myth
10. Modern Marvels: Walt Disney World
Non Disney list
1. Back To The Future Trilogy (I actually own this on DVD, but I have it in Full Screen
)
2. Spider-Man(2002) (Same with BTTF)
3. Star Wars(the new release that contains the original, ESB or ROTJ would be fine as well)
4. Rocky and Bullwinkle: Season 3
5. Taxi: The Complete 2nd Season
6. Wallace and Gromit in Three Amazing Adventures(well, I own the three original shorts on another release, but I want those Cracking Contraptions badly
)
7. Over The Hedge
8. The Polar Express: 2 Disc Collector's Edition
9. Walk The Line: 2 Disc Collector's Edition
10. Loony Tunes: Gold Collection(any volume)
Well, those are my 10 of each, and tried to go easy on the price as much as possible. I don't care which list you choose to get my gift from, I'd be happy with any one of those titles.

My Christmas wish list is small, but I think there are quite a few choice titles on it and they all should be very easy to find. I would them in Widescreen please except for the Abbott & Costello title, it is only available in Full Screen.
DVD's
My Favorite Year - Richard Benjamin and Peter O'Toole
The Last Voyage - Robert Stack and Dorothy Malone
Dance With Me Henry - Abbott & Costello
Bugsy Malone - Scott Baio and Jodie Foster
A Prairie Home Companion - Kevin Kline, Woody Harrelson, Tommy Lee Jones
A Star is Born - Barbra Steisand, Kris Kristofferson (this one doesn't come out until November 28 and I am such a fan of Streisand)
As for Disney DVD's:
Funny Factory 3 and 4 are the only ones that I really need for my collection.
That is about it, short and sweet.
To my Secret Santa, I thank you.

Anyways...
Dear Secret Santa,
Hi there. How are you? I'm a little tired myself, then again, it's 4 am in the morning where I am. But it took me several hours to whittle down my dvdaf wishlist to the list I present before you now. It's nowhere near a definitive list of what I wouldn't mind getting in the mail, but it's close enough for now. Several sacrifices had to be made, such as the removal of some very funny sitcoms, and some really kickass boxsets courtesy of Warner Brothers.
Anyway, I've rambled on enough and now present a modest (with my standards) list of four categories, from which you can pick one category and one trinket or two from that category that would be worth the $20...or more...or less. Items with a * means I really really want it (read: you might as well just forget anything else in the category). It's up to you, have fun with this!
Category One: Disney DVDs:
Disney DVDs, oy. While there are aplenty that I would love, financially it is not viable for a Secret Santa gift, so there's no treasures here, no obnoxiously-high-in-price out of print movies. Just stuff that I know has reasonable prices...and maybe a special four-disc set that would be truly kickass.
The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad: Gold Collection
Robin Hood: Most Wanted Edition
The Great Mouse Detective
Aladdin II & III Collection
DuckTales: The Movie - Treasure of the Lost Lamp (DMC Exclusive)*
Mickey's Once Upon A Christmas: Gold Collection
Mickey's Twice Upon A Christmas
Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers
Frank and Ollie: Special Edition
Chip'n'Dale Rescue Rangers Volume Two
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest - Two-Disc Collector's Edition
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe - Four-Disc Extended Edition*
Category Two: Non-Disney DVDs
Single-title DVDs and a few more boxsets thrown in for good measure. Obviously, boxsets will be beyond the recommended price range, but if found for a great price (like with WB releasing kickass boxsets at 50% off in stores), I wouldn't mind getting them.
Bill & Ted's Most Excellent Collection*
Casanova (2006 Masterpiece Theatre)
The Complete James Dean Collection
The Essential Steve McQueen Collection*
Forbidden Planet: Ultimate Collector's Edition
The Great Gatsby (A&E)
The Mel Brooks Collection
My Family: Seasons One and Two (Bundle Set)*
Pearl Harbor: Vista Series Director's Cut
Pride and Prejudice (1940)*
Reds: 25th Anniversary Edition
Category Three: Doctor Who DVDs:
Although I really want all of the releases out there, here's a list of a few that I've read about online that pique my interest more than the others, with one or from each doctor from the 1963-1989 series, though the two exceptions are The Beginning Boxset and the rest of The Key to Time series. Purposely didn't include the 2005 series because I plan on buying that myself with the 2006 series when it comes out in January.
Doctor Who: The Beginning Collection*
Doctor Who: The Pirate Planet (Part 2 of The Key to Time series)*
Doctor Who: The Stones of Blood (Part 3 of The Key to Time series)
Doctor Who: The Power of Kroll (Part 5 of The Key to Time series)
Doctor Who: The Dalek Invasion of Earth (First Doctor)*
Doctor Who: The Mind Robber (Second Doctor)
Doctor Who: The Claws of Axos (Third Doctor)
Doctor Who: The Hand of Fear (Fourth Doctor)
Doctor Who: Earthshock (Fifth Doctor)
Doctor Who: The Mark of the Rani (Sixth Doctor)*
Doctor Who: Ghost Light (Seventh Doctor)
Category Four: Specific-Person DVDs
Ridley Scott on DVD: (Director)
The Duellists: Special Collector's Edition
Alien: Two-Disc Collector's Edition*
Blade Runner: Director's Cut (Remastered, Amaray Keepcase)
Someone to Watch Over Me
Black Rain: Special Collector's Edition
White Squall
GI Jane
Gladiator: Two-Disc Signature Selection (Out of Print, though quite easy to find used in great/new conditions)
Gladiator: Three-Disc Extended Edition
Black Hawk Down: Three-Disc Deluxe Edition*
Matchstick Men: Widescreen Edition with CD Soundtrack (a harder-to-find version that contains the CD soundtrack and is in a dual-amaray case, as opposed to the regular snapper release)
Gene Tierney on DVD: (Actress)
Sundown
The Shanghai Gesture
Thunder Birds
Heaven Can Wait: Criterion Collection
The Razor's Edge: Studio Classics*
The Ghost and Mrs. Muir: Studio Classics
Night and the City: Criterion Collection*
Advise and Consent
Audrey Hepburn on DVD: (Actress)
War and Peace
Love in the Afternoon
The Nun's Story*
The Unforgiven (According to amazon and dvdaf, this one is out of print)
Breakfast at Tiffany's: 45th Anniversary Edition*
The Children's Hour
Charade: Criterion Collection*
My Fair Lady: Two-Disc Special Edition
How to Steal a Million: Studio Classics
Two for the Road: Studio Classics
Wait Until Dark
Robin and Marian
They All Laughed: 25th Anniversary Edition*
Always
Thanks, and have a joyous Bobunk!

It's always worked. I encourage going through the Amazon front page because that's easier for people and there is no longer the direct-link premium there used to be (which would net 2.5% more were a product bought directly through a link). So it's just less effort and work to use the Amazon homepage link above. However, if you're linking directly to a product, the old way is still the way to go. Thanks for taking the effort to make those. I should look into installing some kind of mod so that you can just click "Amz" and paste in an ASIN and have it make a link for you. Replace "List" or "List=" or something, as they are rarely used anyway.Escapay wrote:I thought that version didn't work anymore? Or it works again? Huh. As of now, two-thirds of Secret Santa participants have been mailed their assignments. The final nine people should be getting theirs today.
