I think it suits Eilonwy to be the first princess with an actual backbone in the Disney Canon (never mind that she's also ignored). I mean, for once you actually have a heroine who has to not only prop up the hero, but can actually make decisions for herself without having to wait for someone to get her or to simply run away and cry about it. After all, if not for Eilonwy finding Taran, he'd have spent the rest of his life in that dungeon.
Hmm, wondering about a live-action. Disney's already got Narnia for their fantasy series...so I doubt they'd want to do a live-action series for Chronicles of Prydain after their failure in the animated movie. Then again, we were subjected to live-action versions of 101 Dalmatians and The Jungle Book, as well as theatrical remakes for The Parent Trap, The Absent-Minded Professor, Freaky Friday, The Shaggy Dog, and eventually we're getting Swiss Family Robinson. So anything can happen.
