Star Wars Trilogy on DVD next year almost certain!
Recently I've heard that Lucas is finally going to put out the original Star Wars trilogy on DVD sometime next year in a new version. What are everyone's thoughts on this matter? I personally would love to have those on DVD, no matter which version(s) he chooses to include!

I'd like to get it next year. I already have episodes one and tow and they are both awesome DVD's in my mind so I'm sure episode 3 will be as well. Just give me the original 3 with some good content on the disks and I'll be a happy man. Plus, just image how much a 6 movie Star Wars set would cost... Way too much!

Not a question for me at all.ArtOfDisney wrote:I Agree. I would love to finally see them on DVD!!!
But let me pose this question.
Would you rather buy it next year or wait until all 6 are out and buy an Ultimate Box Set DVD?
I buy the three when they are released. No way am I double-dipping on Episode's 1-3.

That would do more than just piss me off if it's released ONLY as a 6-part set. I would flat out refuse to purchase it. Hopefully the powers-that-be will make them available separately or at least as two distinct three-packs.MickeyMousePal wrote:
I hope it's not all 6 parts because it would cost a lot.

Of course I'll buy in September. I have Eps 1 & 2 on disc and not planning on buying them again...
I just hope we get the ORIGINAL original trilogy and not the special editions (or at least get both). But we all know Lucas has disavowed any knowledge of anything before the 1997 special editions.
Will American Graffiti be updated to include new CGI effects?

Sulley, where have you been?!
There was a meeting sometime last week with Lucas' people and business people of some sorts - and here it was apparently stated that the plan is to release the original trilogy...well, new cuts of the Original Trilogy in September 2004, before Episode III hits theaters the following spring.

Well, Luke, You must remember that this site is the place i get all my best DVD info! As I've been busy, I've only had time to do Disney Anniversaries, and I haven't looked at the Off-Topic section in a long time, but I assure you I am ecstatic and can't believe I missed this. Recently I've been getting re-interested in the sci-fi genre. But don't worry, I'm still into Disney! Thanks so much for the info!!!

i dont care for the new ones and you can have your fake jaba on the lame version of the old ones because as far as i know the originals in original form can only be seen on THESE or the vhs which go for big dollar too.
