oooh! I will be so pissed if they decide to name it just plain Bambi II!!! Bambi and the Great Prince is a more beautiful name. Seriously if Disney is making an effort to tell more stories they could at least give them more fancier titles.
And country music in Bambi?!!!!!

That sucks, i agree with you toonaspie, bambi and the great prince does sound much better than simply Bambi 2, it seems to add more of a purpose as well, but..a title doesn't make a great movie, we can still hope for the movie to do justice to the original, with or without a lame title .

I think it will have both titles, just like Lilo and Stitch 2: Stitch has a Glitch does!
Most of my Blu-ray collection some of my UK discs aren't on their database
It doesn't have to be country. Faith Hill singing "Where are you Christmas?" on The Grinch wasn't exactly country, nor was Wynonna singing on Lilo and Stitch.
Most singers can break their genre stereotyping you know. I wouldn't class most of Martina McBrides work as "country"

I think the music is good except that it just doesn't fit with Bambi. It most likely goes with the mood of the movie, but there was never any outright singing in the original so I would think it would be very odd. It's almost as bad as hearing that song at the end of Cinderella 2. It fits the movie's story, but it just doesn't go good with the type of movie it is (which was elegant and classic; not pop, in Cinderella's place).

Why not Bambi 1 1/2?
I really liked The Lion King 1 1/2 because it showed the same story but it really brought a sense of humor to the story and it didn't really try to "capture" the feeling of the original. Overall it was fun.
Here it looks like it just tries to hard to "capture" the feeling of the original but I just can't see myself liking it that much.
I mean it's not so bad making a sequel to The Lion King because it was made 11 years ago so the majority of the people who made are still alive and they are fine with sequels to their movies(not saying that they love em or anything but they don't mind) Babmi, on the other hand, was made 64 years ago by Walt Disney and his crew, but today Walt and most of his crew of animators who made Bambi are gone so we don't know exactly what Walt would think of this idea. I just don't think making a sequel to Walt Disney's movies is a good idea since he said in earlier interviews that he didn't even like sequels to begin with(Fantasia was an exception though). So overall here's my message to Disney: If you want to make DTV sequels to your movies, that's alright, but since Walt didn't even like sequels could you at least give his movies some respect.

Well, to be honest being a big Bambi fan that I am I think a short consise title would be better. However, they should call it Bambi 1/2 because Bambi II should take place when he's an adult and has his own children. In other words they shouldn't call it Bambi II just because of this logical reason.
I think you might of misread too. It says that many "web-sites" will use the short title instead of the long title. I don't think that means that they're gonna change the title all together.
Country Music!!!? They need to ask the Red Hot Chili Peppers to do a song, that would rock!!! Totally!!! How about some Megadeath???
Everybody knows about Hollywood skunks
Soulfull sex and funky monks
My tencil town is made of steel
Let's whimp, let's shout, let's make a deal !
Hollywood and Hollywood not
We are so lively on the spot
Feel so alive, don't know where to stop
Are you def or dumb or what?!
Silly little creature, Sikamikanico
Sittin' on a bleature, Sikamikanico
I don't want a teacher, Sikamikanico
If we're gonna reach ya, Sikamikanico
So big boy say you want bad news
We doubt our mama's been confused
It's plain to see we rock the groove
If you don't like it, time to move
Come on you know the words!!!!

I have to agree that Disney dropped the ball on the Bambi sequal with this type of news. I mean changing the name "Bambi and the Great Prince of the Forest" to just plain old "Bambi II," and country music? Boy, it was finally starting to grow on me, and all of the sudden... this happened.

I've asked Disney and they said that the title has not been changed and that is just the short name they are using.
Are we sure that the Bambi DVD is him and not his kids?

Yeah, and most of her songs are alike. She really needs to get over this "make 'em cry" thing she's stuck on. But I suppose that would fit Bambi.DaveWadding wrote:And I wouldn't class most of Martina McBride work as music...ah well, apples and oranges, you know.2099net wrote: I wouldn't class most of Martina McBrides work as "country"
Blah @ the new title, BTW.

anyways, i think it'll all work out, i mean disney is smart....sometimes, but i don't think they'd make a HUGE mistake AGAIN (cough cinderella II cough) with such a classic.
