MMboy's Holes DVD Review!

Post by MickeyMouseboy »

Hi Everyone MMBoy is back with yet another exciting
review! This time we get a early peek at Holes on DVD
coming September 23rd!

Image

Story

The Yelhats family curse is the least of Stanley's
problems at a camp with a evil warden, deadly lizards,
tough bullies and a dangerous mystery!

Image

Video

How does it look? presented in Anamorphic Widescreen
1.85:1 well like every other disney live action now a
days.....Superb transfer no dirty, scratches or film
artifacts. it's crystal sharp and well defined same
goes for colors are rich and solid.
This is the Widescreen Version that has been reviews
(why would someone want to review the Pan & Scam
version?)

Sound

Ok, This is where I got really surprised. Well we all
know that Disney rarely makes a mix that actually puts
all your speakers to use! Well this should prove us
wrong! This mix is really awesome and alive!

Image

Bonus Material

The bonus material is not 16x9 enhanced! presented in
4:3 letterbox

Image

-The Boys of D-Tent (10min 40sec)

Andrew Davis(Director) and Cast talk about the making,
auditions, and anecdotes in making this film! this is
really a nice making of compare to other disney
efforts.

Image

-Digging the Holes (9min 07 secs)

Jon Voight and Sigourney Weaver talk about novel and
how they became in contact with it. then we get some
words from Shia Labeouf, Andrew Davis and
Author/Screenwriter Louis Sacher all taking about
early stages of production another very well made
making of....

Image

-Deleted Scenes

*Meeting Mr Sir
*The Second Hole is the Hardest
*Stanley takes a Stand
*D-Tent Backup
*Letter for Stanley
*Stanley's Accident & the Warden's Pitchwork

Image

-Gag Reel (1min 42 sec)

While I didn't find this funny it might have some
level of entertainment for some of you out there.

Image

-Audio Commentary

This is a nice addition to this disc here we get 2
feature lenght Audio Commentaries!

(1)Cast Commentary: Shia Labeouf, Khleo Thomas, Jake M
Smith, and Max Karsh.

(2)Crew Commentary: Andrew Davis (Director) and
Author/Screenwriter Louis Sachar.

Image

-D-Tent Boys Music Video "Dig it" (1min 8sec)

Cast singing "Dig it" for the movie's soundtrack. this
is only a sample ala L&S A-Teen's video!

-DVD-ROM Material

Besides the usual Disney Skin, the Register you DVD
link, and a Error Message nothing else is included for you DVD-Rom maniacs!

-Trailer

*Lion King Special Edition-This trailer is the same as
previous trailer the only thing that differs is what
the guy says at the end

*Brother Bear
*George of the Jungle 2 DVD
*Finding Nemo DVD
*Freaky Friday(2003)DVD
*Santa Clause 2 DVD

all coming soon to DisneyDVD and Video!

Final Thought

While I didn't catch this at theaters...not that I
didn't want to, cause I did want to go :( but oh well
this was my first time viewing this movie and to tell
you the truth it was AWESOME! I recomend everyone
buying this DVD the movie itself is worth it but for
the extra bucks that bonus material is forth every
penny!
