I've heard that a new Lion King trailer is featured on the "Bringing Down the House" DVD.

Yes, that's where the screencaps here come from:

Oh, I thought those screencaps came from The Lizzie McGuire Movie or Piglet's Big Moive. Cool.

I'm not going to spend $20 just to watch the new trailer though. Hopefully, Disney will post the new trailer on lionkingdvd.com soon.

Rather than start a new thread for one link, I'll post it here.

I found some images of a transfer (probably from digital CD to Imax or DVD):

Pretty sure those are just high-res stills from Disney's site(s).

Buy.com lists the release date for The Lion King-Special Edition (OST) as September 23, 2003. That's two weeks before the Special Edition DVD and VHS will be out.

Kmart.com lists "Disney's Karaoke Series: Lion King."

There will be 16 tracks with and without lead vocals. Their will be on-screen lyrics. This is a CD, not a Sing-Along DVD. I guess the CD will run under a PC and Machintosh computer as opposed to a DVD player. Or are we supposed to play the CDs using a Karaoke machine. :?

Stitch! The Movie shows an excerpt from the Virtual Safari and... it's CGI. Even the animals viewed on the safari are CGI

I hope real life clips of animals are included in the supplements or else, just what is the point? Learn about animals and only see CGI animals on the screen?

Wow, now that's just stupid. I thought the "Virtual" part of the Safari would be the fact that you're sitting in your living room watching it on TV. "Virtual" animals? Ugh.

I should rephrase what I wrote:

What I mean of course is

Just to clear up, I hope the animation has real-life clips as well.

I thought I saw someone post about the rumored running times for the extras in another post, but I can't seem to find it. Does anyone know anything about the running times?

Here's an article on USA Today that I found:

Latest 'Lion King' DVD roars with a new song
By Andy Seiler
...The original version of The Lion King, with no remixing, no tinkering and no new song, will also be included in the DVD.

"The purists out there can see the movie exactly as it was in 1994," Hahn says. "Those who enjoy seeing new innovations can sing a new song."

Ho thinks he knows which you'll choose.

"Nine out of 10 people will prefer the home theater mix," Ho predicts. "I mean, the wildebeests feel like they're stampeding over your head."

So will the 'original' version have the IMAX alterations and colour changes or not?

That article makes it sound like it won't, but the DVDfile interview makes it sound like it will.

I'd be shocked (in a good way) if the original version is truly the original version. And I'm sure Disney will tell USA Today what it wants to, without it actually being confirmed. After all, that article IS essentially a Lion King DVD advertisement.

I certainly do hope that means we get the Original original version...

The newspaper report is encouraging, but ya never know, eh?

At any rate, it is looking good. Can't wait.
