As decided by site vistors, our newest subject is Disney Heroes & Heroines, a nice complement to our last countdown. The countdown has now concluded and can be accessed here: Top 50 Disney Heroes & Heroines.
What we're looking for is the most well-defined protagonists in any of the studio's films. You can choose from animated (Disney's canon, Other Disney Animation) or live action (<a href="http://www.ultimatedisney.com/liveactio ... ent, <a href="http://www.ultimatedisney.com/oldliveac ... 980) film released by the Disney studio. <a href="http://www.ultimatedisney.com/directtov ... deo characters are also fair game, even if many have originated in an earlier film. Any film which appears in any of these lists (including Pixar's) are fair for your consideration.
To vote, come up with lists of 25 heroes & 25 heroines from any characters who appear in the previously-mentioned selection of films. "Best" is a relative term, and everyone may have a different idea of what constitutes the best Disney heroes and heroines. But while you may consider things like courageous acts or magnanimity in determining a hero, you're really looking at the richest characterization of a positive individual in a film more so than simply how heroic they are. You may want to consider their depth, likability, strengths, dimensionality, durability, and resonance.
You may either rank them or list them in no order (if there are no numbers, please specify), but ranked lists and longer lists will weigh slightly more. Please do not vote for more than 25 heroes and 25 heroines. To vote, you may post a reply to this thread or send an e-mail to [email protected]. If you send an e-mail, also make a post in this thread indicating that you have voted. If posting a reply, feel free to make use of the
- option above to make compiling your list easier.
Voting will end Friday, April 8 at 11:59 PM Eastern. The countdown of the top-ranked heroes and heroines will begin sometime thereafter, most likely with 25 of each. If you'd like to provide comments on your favorite heroes or heroines, you may do so by e-mailing [email protected] and they could be included in the resulting pages. Make sure you indicate how you'd like to be credited.
Scoring
Points will be assigned as such: Your lowest ranked hero or heroine will receive 1 point, your next lowest will receive 2 points, and so on from there. That means that if you put together lists of 25 heroes and 25 heroines, then your votes will count more than if you just list 10. Lists with no rankings will simply have the amount of points they would have received through the ranked system evenly divided (and rounded down) for all of their selected heroes and heroines.
