Can a mod ban this bot?

You're kidding, right?

Dear Kyle,

You're kidding, right? You think that a desire to have a thoughtful discussion is the hallmark of a troll? If you don't believe the fact that I was trying to start a serious discussion, watch "Carrie", "THoND", and "Tangled", and then come back and tell me if you don't see similarities...I won't even be offended if you disagree with me...

If enough people agree with me about my not being a troll, sorry. If enough people agree with you, then don't bother calling in The Troll-Busting Patrol, as I will magically leave on my own, thanks.

If you are in fact a real person, then I apologize, its just that Ive seen a lot of spam bots on various forums lately posting as regular users. they copy and paste posts from other forums and threads to blend in. I was at a forum recently that had a bot that had been posting for 2 years and no one picked up on it. Bots can pass as people who don't speak English very well, or noobies. Sometimes they post ads, others seem to forget what they were programed to do for whatever reason. But I went through your post history and you seem to have those some of the giveaways, for example, starting most of your posts the same exact way.

Again, if there's an actual person behind your handle, then I'm sorry.
Bots have been getting smarter these days, sometimes its hard to distinguish the bots from the humans.

And I never called you a troll, that's completely different. Being as formal as your posts are, it makes you look suspicious in my eye. these are just message boards, not emails or letters.

For what it's worth, end-of-post formalities were/are common and second nature to some UD members in their posts:

Mason_Ireton used to end his posts with "write back please" and sign off with his name.

dvdjunkie was always known for ending his posts with a , which gave way to a :), and finally a :D

I often sign my name at the end of my posts, as does Aaron, Goliath, Just Myself, etc.

It's just a rarity to see a beginning formality ("Dear such and such..."). And writing each post as a letter is...interesting. Something new and refreshing to the otherwise-conversational nature of the forum.

The first post I ever saw by Jackoleen, I admit that I thought he/she/it was a bot. Reason being that it was a post that seemed to involve Rumpelstiltskin(?) and maybe an original story of some sort in the Tangled thread. To me, it sounded a little bit off.... But the more I've seen, I just think that he/she/it is very formal, and that might be a little confusing. I don't think that he/she/it is a bot at all, especially if you look at his/her/its last post in the Tangled thread. Participating in discussion is not the mark of a bot/scammer. I'd say he/she/it is legit!

Come back, Jackoleen! It's always nice to have new members around the forums! :D

And in response to the discussion.... That's a really interesting theory. I had never thought of it before, but you definitely have a point there! And with all of the tomato juice running over Quasi's back during the festival... It was sort of like Carrie dripping with blood! And even Frollo's reaction was very "They're all going to laugh at you!" And then Quasi almost stabs Frollo in the end.... OMG! I've never noticed those connections before! :o

Dear Disney Enthusiasts,

Thank you for being understanding, Kyle; I can assure you that I am a real, interested Disney fan. I can totally understand why you'd be suspicious, though, after having run across bots. Of course, the fact that I didn't know what a bot was REALLY pegged me as being a bot, right? No harm done...I actually feel slightly silly for not knowing what a bot was...

You're good at that analysis stuff, Margos! I can't believe that I forgot about the Festival of Fools scene. You're absolutely right about that scene being something like the prom scene from "Carrie".

Thank you in advance for your replies.
