This article explains what happened when the park closed on 9/11. They forced everyone out thinking the park was a target. Does this mean all the other theme parks in the nation Six Flags ,etc were viewed as targets?

Re: disney world on 9 11 2001
This is completely off-topic, but I was scheduled to be in the World Trade Center on 9/13/2001 for a business trip. It was to be my first trip to NYC. I still have my (unused) plane tickets. How lucky do I feel that I escaped being part of the tragedy by a mere two days? (I still have never been to New York).
Disney World was the farthest thing from my mind on that day. As we had colleagues and an office in one of the WTC buildings that was hit - we had a command center set up in Wisconsin trying to keep tabs on the situation. Luckily, none of my colleagues died in the event.
It doesn't surprise me that they closed on that day. A terrorist attack there would be tragic and sends shivers down my spine. Who could be that cold hearted, knowing how many children and families are in the park? I would be interested in hearing from current cast members on how they are trained for such scenarios (obviously I'm fine with vague information, not specifics).
