It just seems so quick, for Hollywood Studios/ MGM to change its name once again! Very strange, considering how the other 3 parks never changed their name in their lifetimes.

Well, Epcot was originally called Epcot Center, then for a couple of years it had the year after it like EPCOT '95 and Epcot '96, then just Epcot.

I think Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom are the only parks whose names haven't been tinkered with.

Disney's California Adventure was renamed Disney California Adventure. That's the one I don't get....

I'm wondering if the tree by The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh is the same tree that used to be at Pooh's Playful Spot.

I just got back from WDW... it had been a while, and I didn't got to every park.

I have to say, I was majorly disappointed by the Magic Kingdom. I live near Disneyland in Anaheim, where everything is always spotless and perfect. MK in Florida was dirty, run down... there were many things that were broken.... Tomorrowland specially was pitiful. The park overall had a feeling of "run down 1970s park"... and there weren't that many rides.
Seems most things were very kid oriented (as opposed to family oriented)... even the "new fantasyland" had very little to offer in the way of entertainment.

I have to say, I am in no rush to go back.

I'm in no rush to go to Disneyland as they're not really as accessible as WDW. Last time we were in Disneyland, my mom couldn't go on many rides because they weren't accessible and mom uses a wheelchair. She couldn't go on Columbia Ship or the submarine and the alternate just doesn't do it. Last time at Disneyland it was very disappointing as they had to cancel the fireworks because of the wind. Don't think I'll be going back to Disneyland. Nothing against the park but it just isn't accessible to people that need mobility devices.

I'm sorry that you didn't have a great time. Did you really only do Magic Kingdom, though? That sounds like kind of a waste if you live so close to Disneyland. Epcot and Animal Kingdom offer a lot of things that no other Disney environment do, and were probably your better bets.

Hey,

Oh no... I did go to other parks! But Magic Kingdom was the one that was the only disappointment (aside from its poor condition, I was shocked how many more rides disneyland has).

As for Nala's response... well, Disney can't control the wind! If they cancelled the fireworks, it was a safety issue. And as for the wheelchair accessibility... you have to consider the park was built 60 years ago, when wheelchair accessibility was not taken into consideration (as much?). I am sure they do what they can in that respect. I know that when they reopened the Sleeping Beauty walkthrough, they also opened a room on the ground floor which displays a 3d rendering of the attraction for people who cannot climb stairs...

The Nemo ride uses most things from the old "20,000 leagues under the sea" ride, which was extremely old. Frankly, its a pretty terrible ride, and I hope they close it soon.

I wonder if the times the Muppets will come out will coincide with when the next Hall of President show starts? Or will it just be random times throughout the day...?

So, this article was in my email inbox this morning:

http://www.orlandosentinel.com/business ... story.html
Florencio Bulanhagui didn't like what he saw in a questionnaire about possible future restrictions on Walt Disney World passes.

The Disney survey asked what he would do if his pass blocked access a couple of months after the opening of a new attraction, parade or show at a theme park. Would he pay additional admission to get an early peek? Upgrade to a pass that allowed him to visit? Or simply wait until the restrictions were lifted?

...Disney did not make executives available for an interview. A spokeswoman pointed out Florida residents receive discounts on tickets while those with passes enjoy price cuts on merchandise, food and hotels. Disney also said it will unveil new passholder benefits and another Florida resident ticket offer this fall.

...General tickets cost more as well. Four-day Florida resident ticket specials costing $159 last year didn't return this January. Disney sells a four-day Florida resident package starting at $219.

As Disney's theme parks have become more crowded, the company has tried to discourage some visits during its busiest periods. The strategy has included a revamp of the annual-pass system. In October, prices rose 22 percent to $649 for Florida passholders wanting admittance during Christmas and spring break.

Walt Disney Co. Chief Executive Officer Bob Iger told analysts in May executives are willing to sacrifice some attendance. Revenue has still risen, because guests are spending more on average.

...Annoyances to some locals include a FastPass system allowing hotel guests to reserve ride times about two months in advance but forcing others to wait until 30 days before a visit. That means Central Florida residents can have difficulty getting onto popular rides unless they wait in long lines...

I love it. I love any show like this (World of Color, Fantasmic!), and this one does not disappoint.
