Disney's Animal Kingdom offering FASTPASS for shows through to end of May 2010
http://www.wdwmagic.com/Attractions/Ani ... y-2010.htm

I was at Animal Kingdom on Sunday, and I noticed the show Fastpass kiosks. I thought that it was a little strange (my thought was, "They really need Fastpasses for Flights of Wonder?!"), but since a show Fastpass doesn't stop you from getting a Fastpass for another attraction, I'm okay with it. I just wonder how many people know that you can get another FP when you have a show FP; that mind hinder some people from even approaching the FP kiosks for the shows.

The WDW Character Hunt site has posted a bunch of information about rumored and confirmed character changes coming in the next couple of weeks.

During Star Wars Weekends, Asajj (Clone Wars) will be available for meet and greets, and will be trading out with Ahsoka near the entrance to the Premiere Theater. The two are also joining the Jedi Training Academy. Commander Cody is getting an updated look as well.

Characters from Up are leaving the Studios as of Sunday, and reportedly moving to The Oasis at Disney's Animal Kingdom on May 9. They will be replaced at the Art of Disney Animation by Lotso Huggin' Bear from Toy Story 3 on May 9.

Horace Horsecollar and Clarabelle Cow have replaced Liverlips and Shaker (from Country Bear Jamboree) in the Frontierland Hoedown Happening.

Goofy will soon be appearing in pirate garb near the entrance to the Pirates League in Adventureland.

Winnie the Pooh and Tigger are moving from the Train Station in Mickey's Toontown Fair to Town Square on May 9.

At the Magic Kingdom effective May 9, Bert and Mary Poppins are scheduled to appear at Cinderella's Golden Carousel in Fantasyland, with Prince Eric and Ariel at the Adventureland Veranda. Wendy will be with Peter Pan in Fantasyland, Stitch moves from Adventureland to Frontierland, while Lilo leaves the park. Chip and Dale shift from Town Square to Tomorrowland, and Snow White moves from Town Square to the Wishing Well.

At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, also effective May 9, Jojo is leaving Playhouse Disney but still appear at Play 'n' Dine while Goliath is disappearing. Handy Manny begins appearing at Play 'n' Dine, and the Sorcerer's Hat will regularly host Piglet, Pooh, Donald, Daisy, Minnie, and Stitch.

Lilo and Stitch will begin appearing at Typhoon Lagoon on May 9, while Goofy will start appearances at Blizzard Beach on the same day.

Ah, my two favorite couples...

I'd give anything to just go to Disney World once more before I'm twenty...

(5/21/10) Big news sent our way from Animal Kingdom by way of tree mail… it seems starting today riders on Expedition Everest will encounter something other than a Yeti at the finale. They’re encounter a large screen cover set up to block all view of the Yeti figure. Despite the fact that Memorial Day Weekend is coming soon, apparently this screen will be up in place until around mid-June while they attempt a minor rehab of the Yeti figure.
I’m told that the plan is to try and restore some movement to the arm and head as a sort of half-way fix to restore it to closed to the full blown “A” show mode that hasn’t been seen in months. Apparently the only way the Yeti will ever get restored to full operational status is whenever the time comes to close down the ride complete for an extensive rehab that could take up to 6 months. Obviously WDW management has been in no hurry to do such a thing as the impact on the park would be huge.
(5/24/10) A quick update on that Yeti construction I mentioned last week… scratch that… and delay it. It seems the reported screen to cover up the Yeti the other night was simply a “test” to see how it would look and it was taken down in less than 24 hours. According to the last report, the final Yeti room scene is back to running it’s typical dark room with strobe light effects version of the scene until they come back with the screen and begin working on it in the near future.
5/25/10) I’ve been told that Imagineerings has decided to play with Dinosaur a little bit and have removed the large Carnatorus (sp?) seen during the photo op, and replaced it with a smaller Carnator head that pops up on the opposite side of the park. I don’t know if this is a backup plan while they perhaps perform some kind of maintance to the big one or if they are just playing around with some new effects ideas, but I doubt this is a permanent thing.
