Editor's Note 8/11-12: A temporary set of safety scaffolding around the exterior portions of track at Alice In Wonderland is nearly complete. Cal/OSHA will inspect it on Thursday, and if Disneyland gets the green light from the inspectors the ride will reopen on Friday. A permanent fix is still being debated and designed at WDI, and the major refurbishment needed for the project has yet to be slotted in to the 2011 calendar. - Al Lutz

i havn't been to DisneyLand yet. so CAN someone tell me what stands atm, where they are planning to put the tower. I know the Meet and Great is Gepetto's, but i would really like to no thanks

The tower has always been there, right next to the Pinocchio ride. It will be repainted and adorned to match the tower in the movie.

Editor's Note 8/15: The wildly popular Glow Fest has now been extended through Labor Day, beginning 8/23 in a new format confined to the Sunshine Plaza area. The original end date was 8/22, but huge cocktail and food sales, and the continuing high survey rankings the nightly party gets from visitors, convinced TDA that Glow Fest needed to be extended right through the very end of summer. The TRON version, designed in-house this time, will debut later in September in the Hollywood Pictures Backlot. - Al Lutz

At first, I was thinking, oh, that's not cool, but then after reading comments on the site, I'm fine with it- other people don't get to wear whatever they want (a commenter gave examples of other religious apparel that can't be worn) when they work for Disney in a front-line role. And the girl did work for Disney for 2 years without wearing the headscarf; some commenters think that the union rep put her up to this...I wouldn't be surprised.

The post says that another female cast member is wearing a Disney-designed head scarf/hat, and apparently that person has no problems. This girl needs to get fired, but if she does, she'll say it's because of her religious beliefs...but in reality, it'd be because she's a pain in the you-know-where, and she's apparently not doing the duties that she got hired for, if she keeps going home.

Yeah, I don't really understand the situation. Her religious beliefs say that she needs to keep her head covered -- to the best of my knowledge, they don't dictate HOW it needs to be covered. Disney provides her with a head covering that matches her costume and she finds it offensive? It makes me think she went to work for Disney, knowing about their particularities and planning to stir up some trouble that would result in a lawsuit in her favor.

And to say that she is embarrassed because she would be the only cast member wearing it? That just causes me to question her beliefs in general.

^She obviously just wants attention and money...and so does the union.
