I think that's why mvealf said to click on the photo.

Translated (quite poorly I'm afraid):

The store research system of the animation-related work data which the American ウォルト ディズニー corporation is proud, the animation research library (ARL) possesses, among the original pictures which have announcement that it was discovered by the Chiba university to the collection approximately 300 points and 2005 of the non- coming out outside the gate, the work of approximately 200 points which administer assiduous restoration action was released "animation art spreading/displaying of maximum scale in ディズニー history". While thoroughly containing all contents of the "ディズニー art spreading/displaying," numerously of the art due to high picture quality digital image interweaving main part image and making image, it introduced the charm of the respective art deeply ' D ズ knee art spreading/displaying everything '. While also the sliding show which can enjoy 1 point at a time all arts being recorded, looking at the caption it enjoys art, or without the caption only art tastes thoroughly, that method of enjoying 2 types is possible. Message from ウォルト and the artists who exceed the time of half a century ones, now, display the form. From individual art, dream and passion are transmitted, hotly. Please enjoy the time of happiness by all means with this work!

In other words, they've taken high quality scans of materials from the ARL, as well as some recently discovered (?) material at Chiba University, and are providing it on Blu-Ray Disc in both a still gallery form that allows you to view each piece in wonderful and high clarity/definition/quality, as well as a slideshow with captions.

Actually, the above artwork is for the regular DVD. The Blu-Ray looks like this:

The sound wasn't working on my computer (but I don't speak Japanese anyway). I want that.

Do Blu-Ray discs have regions? And can anyone link the Amazon.jp page for this DVD on here...I searched but didn't find it...

Thanks!

They haven't put it on Amazon.jp yet. There is no region coding for Blu-Ray, so it should be able to play anywhere. Here is a link to a place called DVDeliver where you can pre-order it. I have never bought from them. Interesting how it lists 3 parts, and something called "Missing Treasures"

Will the whole thing be in Japanese? Or will there be a separate language track? Will Disney ever release it in America?

Oh, and thanks, mvealf, for the link!

All of the Japanese Disney DVDs that I have bought, have an English soundtrack. It would be nice if it were also released in the U.S., but since the content is from Chiba University in Japan, it may be a Japanese only release. Here is another (bad) translation which seems to say it has an English soundtrack:

---

2005 end of year, ' at the Chiba university, discovery ' with it is the original picture of mass early 繝・ぅ繧コ繝九・ animation, news of the surprise were announced. As for waking up from long sleep, "the beauty of the forest which you can sleep" is begun, the background picture and concept art etc. of the approximately 250 points. It was something where these are exhibited by the exhibition which in 1960 is held in Japan, afterwards are transferred in the Chiba university.
This work could add also approximately 350 points which are selected from the animation research library in addition to the work of approximately 200 points which administer assiduous restoration job, the fan necessary image collection of seeing. While numerously of the art due to high picture quality digital image, interweaving making image and the like, it introduces the charm. In addition, you record also the sliding show which can enjoy 1 point at a time all art. At the time of the Japanese theater first release besides the fact that poster collection and the like is recorded as an image benefit, also the art catalog booklet is enclosed.

* Recording contents
(1) the work which awakes from Part1 sleep
(2) Part2 animation research library (ARL) collection
(3) from Part3 movie to world of 3 dimensions
* Image benefit: Missing Treasures (treasure of vision) - the discovery and restoration - (10 minutes)/at the time of the Japanese theater first release poster collection
* Enclosure benefit: 40P art catalog booklet
* Sale:繝悶お繝・vista foam/home entertainment / sale:繝悶お繝翫ン繧ケ繧ソfoam/home entertainment
*JAN: 4959241710192 *62 minutes/color
*16: 9/4: 3 (LB) *multiple subtitle (Japanese/English)

Thanks, mvealf! Even though I don't understand most of what you translated (which isn't your fault).

Ooo... this looks nice.

But Blu-ray? I wonder if there will also be an HD-DVD release? I see there is a regular DVD of it.

It looks like they changed the artwork. It used to look like this:<p><img border="0" src="http://www.geocities.com/disney_laserdi ... S-1019.jpg" width="150" height="200"></p>Now it looks like this:<p><img border="0" src="http://bvhe-navi.jp/image/products/pict ... 6102_s.jpg" width="85" height="115"></p>I like the original one better.

I think your images are swapped. The top one is the newer one while the bottom one is the older one. I agree that the new cover is blagh. I never liked how Disney covers a third of their covers with a pointless silver border. I'm really curious about buying this DVD, but I'll wait until someone else does and reviews it.
