I loved Where the Wild Things Are book, and even the movie. Rest in peace. :(

RIP :(

Now I know Colbert's gonna mention this. He interviewed Sendak a few months ago, and somehow got his blessing to publish his new book.

R.I.P Maurice Sendak. Thank you for the awe and wonder you brought, and may things be wonderful for you outside over there, in that incredible place where the wild things are... :(

Sad, though not entirely unexpected. The man was a revolutionary, a word I don't toss about lightly, and a fantastic artist. I still remember seeing a production of "The Nutcracker" he designed as a child, and that was years ago. He also gave several of the greatest crotchety interviews I've ever heard, as well he should have.

Also, you know, he was gay, so... it's cool to have him in the club.
"Ta ta ta taaaa! Look at me... I'm a snowman! I'm gonna go stand on someone's lawn if I don't get something to do around here pretty soon!"
