Will this thread be locked too? Will LGBT persons find the love, respect and human rights they feel they deserve? Has the Empire crushed the Rebel's hope of finding fabulous? Will Priscilla succeed on Broadway?

Only you, my fellow forum members, can decide....

This would have been more climactic if one of our numbers was frozen in carbonite and displayed in a space gagster's palace somewhere. I guess the Forbidden Talk will have to be my cliffhanger.

To answer these questions:

1. Hopefully not, so long as it doesn't turn into more of an off-topic, aimless, excuse for general debate on other issues (though I did make a post that was then dissected by another member and went off on to something icky, so I hope I'm not a stone-thrower living in a glass house  ). Of course, even if it does stay nice and jolly for the most part, it may still end up getting locked if it gets past the 70 page mark, and if heteros like me chime in now and then with seemingly useless posts. ;)

2. If I were the ruler of the world, then yes. :) Well, nice people in general would get love, respect and human rights. Anybody bigoted/mean would get struck by a bolt of lightning. ;)

3. There's a New Hope In a Galaxy Far Away (taken from "Force: A Star Wars Musical!")

4. Probably more so than a Spiderman musical. :p

I'm fine with that, just not the "Forbidden Talk" stuff. :P

I didn't know world rulers could make lightning.

Flanger's post didn't need no fixing, smart-ass. Two people arguing means two people are to blame. Although I honestly didn't know discussing abortion is verboten on UD.
Flanger-Hanger wrote:lol, well hopefully he has learned his lesson.
What? Have we now appointed an official scapegoat? If I'm correct, a discussion requires two people, not one. But anyway... if nobody brings up any verboten topics, this thread will fare well...

Well Goliath mentioned it the first time, and then three people commented on it. I will take some credit, so I will not say that Goliath is all to blame, but I don't think the thread should have been locked in the first place for any that we said, but that is a touchy subject itself. As it is, I won't let Goliath stand alone, I take some of the blame.

I think I should have said something like "What you say is not necessarily true, or I disagree, but let's not talk about it here."

But I don't think any of us did anything wrong except perhaps the last post when things did get close to heated.

Anyone else see The Daily Show bit on John McCain's views on DADT?

Me and a guy and his life partner are working on a speech about Gay Marriage.

A while back someone in another gay thread said something about a story where a gay man's partner was in the hospital, and he died before he was allowed to see him, whereas if they were married, he would have been allowed to see him.

I was wondering if anyone knew that story or the names, I also want to know if a civil union would cover that at all. Not that I think civil unions are good enough, because we should get the very same as straight couples, even the very title of marriage.

That's funny, so many people said the title doesn't matter when talking about Tangled. Guess what, it does matter.

Yes, I did! (Of course, I never miss an episode.) That was so hilarious, especially when Jon said: McCain spend a year to study DADT, but only 90 minutes to pick his running mate.

Rachel Maddow covered the same topic. In the video below, the part about DADT begins around 5:07 min., but to appreciate the point she's making, it's better to watch the full video. You'll see a pattern appear in McCain's stance on every single issue...

It's obvious he doesn't want it changed ever, but will never directly state so in order to prevent any loss in voting support. Unfortunately for him he will run out of reasoning eventually and hopefully be forced to face the reality that the law has changed.

Sadly though, the law is still in place despite a majority of both parties, the president, the military and the courts saying it should be removed. That's the part that annoys me more than any one man's many, many opinions.

Taken from the closed "It Gets Better" Video thread:

Goliath wrote:2 Girls 1 Cup is the unofficial nickname of the trailer for Hungry Bitches, a 2007 Brazilian scat-fetish pornographic film produced by MFX Media.[1] The trailer features two women conducting themselves in fetishistic intimate relations, including defecating into a cup, taking turns ostensibly consuming the excrement, and vomiting it into each other's mouths.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2_Girls_1_Cup

That *would* have been slightly disturbing.

So...

How do *you* know about that movie? :D
Just in case you didn't know (I'm not sure, maybe you have heard of it)

It was a huge internet trend / "hit" back in... 2006? '07? Thereabouts. People were daring each other to sit through it. That's what DiscoDan meant by what he said. Almost everyone heard about it one way or another. I saw it as well (I've heard it was all faked... I hope that's true).

There was also another famous shock video called... BME Pain Olympics. Can't remember the exact title (fixed: I just Googled it). A montage video where, I believe, a series of men were mutilating their own genitalia on camera in various ways.

I saw both of those videos. I didn't even bat an eyelid. I guess i'm use to seeing all this shit.

That BME Pain Olympics mutilation-fest was fake. Prostates. Thank god. If I can remember correctly, the creator was forced to admit that it was all fake. The 2 Girls 1 Cup video was not fake. Some people are just sick in the head. That Pain Olympics thing did make me a wee bit uncomfortable - scrap that - it was disgusting. Like an X-rated Saw movie. There's also some viral video where a guy was actually killed, can't remember the name... 3 Guys -something, something-. That's a little too sick for my taste. I don't doubt that there's even worse things out there.

The few I've seen are definitely not recommended though. DO NOT GOOGLE IT, not even the name, they don't care about your soul.

I would have assumed (don't forget- they vomited in it too). But I just meant that this video wasn't popular because it was anyone's idea of porn. That's why they made it outside of the U.S. People dared each other to watch it because it looked real (and as you can only imagine, it was so disgusting that it inspired reflexive screams and gags in most viewers). I thought it was real too. And I believe Duckburger when he tells me it is. Having unfortunately seen it, I was clinging onto that straw of hope that it might not have been.

At least I learned one thing from the experience- watching something because you've been dared to is stupid. Therefore, I've been spared ever having to watch films like Cannibal Holocaust, I Spit on Your Grave, and The New York Ripper. To say nothing of Murder Set Pieces, August Underground, the Guinea Pig films, Men Behind the Sun and things like that... Films that don't even have a story.

Oh, but... since I've mentioned that film and Duck went and mentioned Saw (I assume, putting it in a context of: that's as extreme as you get until you get to an X/NC-17 rated film)... I want to show you guys something. Here's the freezing experiment scene from Men Behind the Sun. You may be surprised:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=blI1CLco4W4

My typical reaction to torture is eyerolling. It's very hard for me to put myself in the position of the person being tortured. But this scene has a trick up its' sleeve. If you feel the way I do, the first 3 minutes of the video will be "oh- great; why am I watching this." But then, at the 3rd minute, I was surprised. Before we go "behind the scenes" to see something of a why this scene is taking place, I was busy picking over details like- why does it seem like she cried more when the soldier stepped on her pillow (was there something in it)? And what is she looking at? The camera keeps cutting away to a bunch of ice cubes lying on the ground with the pillow there (was there a baby in the pillow or something?). And they must have wanted us to ask these questions, because otherwise there's no reason to sit through someone being tortured. I didn't expect what happened next. And, unless you know biology better than I do- I don't think you will be expecting it either.

The reason I linked it is... I have never freaked out after seeing something like that. I've seen gore that would make your head spin. But this was real brain-twitching stuff. If you really want to test yourself (SuperA?), give this thing a try.
