I got four brand-new 4GB memory modules for my ASUS Desktop CM5675 with intel i5 procesor and Windows 7 Home Premium. This would max out my PC's memory capacity at 16 gigs, but after much trial and error, i had to put two of my old 2gb modules back in and it's only at 12GB. This is because there were blue screens for several reasons even before the OS could fully boot, couldnt do a system repair startup(but can now), and it worked only a little better in safe mode.
Any advice?
PC Memory upgrade problem(any techies out there?)

Is the computer stable with the 12GB of RAM?
If your getting Blue Screens you probably have a bad stick, or bad sticks of RAM. It can happen even with new RAM.
Memtest86 and Windows Memory Diagnostic are two programs that can be used to test your RAM. Each program can be burned to CD, and then you can boot the computer with the CD in the drive. It will bypass Windows and load up the program and start scanning your RAM.
