Bambi Special Edition vs. Platinum
Bambi Special Edition vs. Platinum
I thought Bambi was supposed to be a Platinum Edition? It is being advertised as a Special Edition. Why would that happen? Does this mean it will have fewer features than it would if it had been issued as a Platinum?

All of the titles in the Platinum line are also Special Editions. In all marketing, Disney refers to them as a SE. "Platinum Edition" is the collection that these Special Editions fall in. Fans use generally refer to them as Platinum Editions to make Disney's semantics less confusing. Don't worry- there's only one Bambi DVD coming out, and it's the Special/Platinum Edition.

Platinum Edition = fall release date
I sure looks like Disney reserves the Platinum Edition moniker to those DVDs released during the Fall of a particular year. Look at their past releases... every Plantinum release was done in the fall... any other period, and they're referred to as Special Edition. Anyone else notice this?
It's more fun when we're number 1!

No, not really. If you're confused by the first Platinum released in March, then you should read up on this:ValenciaJoe wrote:I sure looks like Disney reserves the Platinum Edition moniker to those DVDs released during the Fall of a particular year.
