What shows are on your fall watching schedule?...discuss..

Post by dvdjunkie »

In all the years I have been on this forum I don't think I have ever seen anyone discuss what they watch each day of the week. By 'day' of the week I am referring to Prime Time television. Here's my schedule for the 2013-2014 season.

Sunday

Once Upon A Time (ABC)
The Mentalist (CBS)

Monday

The Voice (Season Five) (NBC)
Bones (Fox)
Castle (ABC)
Sleepy Hollow (CBS) - I'll give this one a couple of weeks before it becomes permanent.

Tuesday

The Voice (NBC)
NCIS (CBS)
NCIS Los Angeles (CBS)
Person of Interest (CBS)
Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D. (ABC)
Chicago Fire (NBC)

Wednesday

The 'X' Factor (Fox)
Ironside (Will give this one a watch or two before I decide that it is worth the time.)
Criminal Minds (CBS)
C.S.I. (CBS)
UFC Fight Night (Fox Sports 1) - once or twice a month it will dominate by Wednesday night.
The Ultimate Fighter (Fox Sports 1)

Thursday

The Big Bang Theory (CBS)
Once Upon A Time in Wonderland (ABC) - Still wondering if this is going to be a waste of time.
The 'X' Factor

Friday

Shark Tank (ABC)
Hawaii Five-O (CBS)
Blue Bloods (CBS)
Grimm
Bellator MMA Fights of the Week (Spike)

Saturday

Best night for Movie Night in the Junkie Home Theater

Until mid-November my Saturday and Sunday afternoons are taken up by NASCAR then I will catch a College football game or two on Saturday and NFL game once in a while where time allows.

What does your schedule look like?

Just re-reading my post and remembered the reason why I got my Contour on Cox Communications (the ability to record six shows in any one time slot at a time) because I do watch some other channels like ESPN, ESPN 2, Discovery, USA, TBS, HGTV, Food Network, The Hub, History Channel, truTV, Spike, etc.

Shows that I record to watch at a different time include "Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives", "The Worst Cooks in America", "The Great Food Truck Race", "Iron Chef America", "Cutthroat Kitchen", "The Next Iron Chef", "The Next Food Network Star", Trisha Yearwood's Country Kitchen, "Pawn Stars", "Storage Wars", Container Wars, "The Little Couple", Holmes Makes It Right, "Chef Wanted with Anne Burrell", "Restaurant Impossible", "Restaurant Stakeout", "Mystery Diners", "Bar Rescue", "My Yard Goes Disney", Hawaii Life, Property Virgins, "Property Brothers", "Income Property", Food Paradise, BBQ Crawl, BBQ Pitmasters, "Lois & Clark The New Adventures of Superman", "Animaniacs", Burger Land, Crossroads, Storytellers, By Invitation Only, a few others. The shows with quotation marks are the ones that I watch regularly and rarely miss an episode.

Disney Jr. is regularly watched and the only shows we record for the grandkids are "Sofia the First", "Jake and the Neverland Pirates", and other animated shows on Cartoon Network include "The Yoda Chronicles", "The Legend of Chima", and "PAW Patrol".

I know I am forgetting a few, but you get the idea. I love my Cox Contour and if you are a Cox subscriber and don't have it yet, get it now while it is on a 2-year-guarantee-price.

I watched the whole series over the summer on DVD (except for the first half of season five since the set is too expensive for 8 episodes). I really enjoyed how they decided to close out the series.

Breaking Bad had such a perfect finale. Everyone who should've died did, while those who deserved a second chance was implied to have one.

Including Saul, depending on how that spin-off comes out. :p

Once Upon A Time in Wonderland

Wow, I evidently watch very little TV. Here's what I watch:

Sunday- Once Upon a Time

Tuesday- Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

Wednesday - Revolution

Thursday - Scandal

I will check out Wonderland, but the previews look so so to me. I got less excited when I learned Naveen Andrews was Jafar. I'm not a fan. He's ok, I guess. But after awhile, it's like who on LOST isn't working for OUAT these days?

I saw the first 20 minutes of Wonderland as a bonus for the itunes copy of OUAT season 3 premiere and it definitely has real potential. They are on to something

Will watch agents of shield

There's also legend of Korra on friday nights.

And may check out scandal

So for my schedule, I dropped Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (boringggg) but picked up The Crazy Ones (finally, another CBS show I can watch without wanting to cut. But I mean, it's Sarah Michelle Gellar. I'd do most anything for her) and American Horror Story (I liked the first season but skipped Asylum. This one lured me back instantly, though).

But for now, I'm waiting for the return of Archer and Game of Thrones, while dreading the end of HIMYM.

I'm glad I'm not the only one here watching American Horror Story: Coven. Saw a couple episodes of the first season, didn't like it, skipped the second, but was drawn back in by commercials for the new season emphasizing witches and Kathy Bates (two pluses for me). And the show is very entertaining, although not perfect by any means.

My schedule is kind of measly:

Sunday - Once Upon a Time
Wednesday - American Horror Story: Coven
Thursday - Once Upon a Time in Wonderland

Occasionally, I catch an episode of Glee or The Voice, but not consistently. The only show I'll be adding in the Spring is American Idol. (I usually buy Downton Abbey's new season immediately instead of waiting for it to air in the US).

Listening to most often lately:
Ariana Grande ~ "we can't be friends (wait for your love)"
Ariana Grande ~ "imperfect for you"
Kacey Musgraves ~ "The Architect"

Oh, AHS is just a hoot. It isn't smart in any conceivable way, but the franchise is a highly entertaining throwback to older horror tropes with a great range of performances all around.

I'm still waiting for Asylum to hit Netflix already, so I can see it. I've heard mixed things about it, although more towards positive than not.

Right now I'm watching the pilot for True Detective, as I wait for my most anticipated return (Archer) and after watching my favorite comedy still on (How I Met Your Mother). I also have to add Girls to my list of shows I'm keeping up with.
